[CLOSED] Challenge #2 - Manning the Wall

Challenge Type: Drabble

A drabble is 100 words. No more. No less.

All members of your community take turns at everything. You all go out on runs to search for supplies, you all pitch in when repairs must be made and you all man the wall, the latter role quite often being the first line of defence should trouble be en route.

Your task here is to write a drabble from the point of view of a survivor on watch, manning the wall.

What do you see out there, beyond the wall?

Is it tiring? I bet it is and that rifle sure looks heavy...

It's probably not too bad a job in the warmer months but come Winter with those cold and biting winds, that driving rain and potentially heavy snow, depending entirely upon where in the world your community is based, of course, manning the wall must be a nightmare!
