Y O U

Have you ever gotten that feeling while you're asleep that you know it yourself that you're just really happy? It feels like your unconscious mind is already giving you the sunshine for the day before you can even wake up and that's how I exactly felt today. I was smiling with my eyes closed, holding onto my fiancée's waist while I was spooning her. Fiancée, I repeated in my head. My smile got wider as I pulled Lauren's body impossibly closer to mine until there was no more distance left between us.

Last night was beyond memorable. After my proposal, we spent our dinner in a Mexican restaurant and had fun without holding back, dancing and laughing the night away. Emma was there as well and some of Lauren's friends that I secretly asked to come to surprise my girlfriend and surprisingly enough, everyone synchronized last night like we've known each other for years. We drank a little but not to the point where we couldn't see clearly—but I couldn't say the same for Keana, Alexa, and Lucy. Right now, I'm sure that they're all hungover in their own hotel room.

Barely opening my eyes, I craned my neck to place tender kisses on her shoulders, trailing my lips up to her neck until I reached the back of her ear. She let out a soft sigh and leaned further back against me, her ass pressing against my crotch. I grinned as I continued kissing her and stopped when she finally giggled.

"Baby, it tickles," she said, her voice raspier from sleep while she tried to duck my kisses by burying her face on the pillow.

I didn't respond, lifting my leg so I was hovering her and my lips never leaving her skin. I stretched my arm and gently cupped Lauren's chin, making her tilt her head up and our lips to meet.

"Good morning, fiancée," I said, grinning at her as I looked into my favorite pair of eyes. "How was your sleep?"

"One of the bests," she said, lifting a hand up to cover her mouth before yawning and involuntarily making me smile. "How long have you been awake?"

"Just now," I said, lowering myself so I was completely lying on her. "But my heart is already happy before I even knew it was."

"How did you know it was happy?"

"I don't know." I shrugged, kissing her collarbone twice before meeting her warm gaze. "I guess there are just some things where you don't really have to know . . . you just feel it and something inside you tells you that it's real. I was lying beside you a while ago and in my unconscious state, I knew everything I have with you is real—you're real—and it made me happy."

"It's too early for your romantic assertion, baby," she said, giggling softly. "I don't think my heart is ready for it."

"You'll never be ready for me," I said, getting off of her and swinging my legs to the side of the bed. "Which reminds me. Get ready, babe, and pack some clothes. We're going for an adventure today."

"This early?" She whined, making me smile.

"Yes, this early. We need to come back before morning because we still have a show tomorrow," I said, reminding her that we're still on the road. "I want to take you out because this is the first day that you're officially my fiancée."

"You like that very much, huh?" She said teasingly, grinning up at me while I was reading the text Emma sent me, saying that she had to leave early today because of an important meeting.

"I'm finally sure that I'm going to marry the love of my life someday," I said, quickly replying to my best friend. "Isn't that something to like? Having something a word of reassurance and calling you mine?"

"I'm already yours even before I was your fiancée," she said, a cheeky smile on her face.

I returned the gesture and sat my phone on the nightstand, leaning down to kiss Lauren on the lips. "And you'll still be mine after that."
