Chapter 10
I C A R E
After Andrew's practice, I end up at home and on my bed scribbling down some math problems. I strain my brain trying to find out why the slope of this line isn't fitting in my mind. I get so aggravated I could destroy the Earth like Godzilla does every time he comes to land.
As I'm moving on to another problem forgetting the other one, I hear a noise next door. To my right.
Parker.
My eyes move without me knowing and I see my curtains shut tight. I bite my lip in frustration because I can't see him, but I know he is there. So I run to the curtains the wind I created making them move a little. I shove them open, but pull them tight immediately. I look across the room from mine, through the peek in my curtains. Parker paces around his room, his shirt is off and his back fully on display. I watch as his muscles ripple and find myself leaning forward to get more of the view when he disappears behind his wall.
"Whoa!" I cry as I almost fall out and grab onto my curtain as it rips out of the thing. The curtain comes flying down and I know I probably look like one of those cheap costumes of ghosts with the sheets.
"Quinn?" Parkers voice echos, curiosity in his voice.
I move the curtain from my face and look at him with red cheeks and a silly smile on my face. I hope he doesn't realize I was staring at him like a dog staring at a treat.
"Yeah?" I ask, getting up, moving the curtain away from me and leaving it on my floor. I lean toward the window, but lean back when I remember what I'm wearing. A tank top with super short shorts, maybe there was a reason I has my curtains closed. Actually, I had them closed because I have a ton of homework and I need to focus. And getting distracted—like I am now—will not help me get it done any quicker.
"What are you doing?" He asks with a smirk. I swear he knows what I am doing (which is staring at him) because he flexes his muscles. I swear I go into cardiac arrest. I have to turn around to answer Parker. "Hello?" He asks, sounding closer. Oh God. He cannot be coming in here.
"No reason."
"What?"
"Huh?"
"Qué?" I ask a Spanish question. That is what, right?
"Why did you almost fall out of your window?" I tug on my lip and look at my reflection in my body mirror across from me. The blue in my eyes shines as a shirtless body appears behind me. Parker wraps his bare hands around me, sending shivers through me. He notices.
"Why did you do that? Shiver?" He clarifies after a second and moves around me to face my front. I close my eyes as his extremely tight pecs come into my vision. Who is he? John Cena?
I bite my tongue to stop myself from screaming 'Get out of my room you God!' at Parker. I can't stop myself. Only I don't say those words.
"You."
My eyes shoot open at the realization of what I just said and Parker stares down at me since I'm so small compared to him. He leans toward me, and I step backwards. My hands push on his taught stomach as he kind of corrals me into the wall. My back crashes against the blue paint and I look up into Parkers extremely beautiful amber eyes. He stares into mine, burning holes into the dark ice of my eyes.
