Chapter (3): Geunyeocheoleom Naemsae Matgi
Merari
After some time crying over the amazing present Cherish had gotten me for my birthday ---little chibi BTS shoes!--- lunch continued on as normal.
The only weird part of lunch was Derek sitting between William and Kieran, instead of beside his girlfriend.
Cherish had dropped his butt the day break ended. Showed up to school ready to break some hearts and she did. Over what, neither will say, but Derek insisted this was a temporary break, and they will be back together soon. Though Cherish didn't seem upset by the breakup, she was a giant softie.
I was gonna spend the rest of this week and all the time in the world making her feel better. I am the shoulder to cry on and the elbow of support.
Kourtney, after finishing her food, disappeared to hang out with her new squad, that may or may not be slowly replacing us. The vball team was growing weirdly close. Kourtney had no time for us anymore, not that she paid much attention in the first place. If we weren't playing BS, she was on her phone, indulging in Facebook vids or terrible soap operas.
Cherish and I discussed a number of topics, such as the homework she isn't doing, and how her Algebra II was gonna get her thrown out of school.
Today was like any other day, at least for us. We're a table where the majority is not human. Derek and Kieran, Cherish and I, and Crystal if she were here, were all vampires. Derek had kidnapped a bunch of students and turned us, then Cherish out of love.
As a vampire, I developed the ability to read body language a little too well, and I knew that Natalie and William kept secrets. I assumed they weren't very human either. That left Marissa, Kourtney, and Andrea, who sat in our presence with no fear.
Speaking of the weird stuff at school, Isis and Brandon had started dating, just as Cherish predicted, but Isis was secretly planning on leaving him to pursue her schooling. Yes, they were both advanced students here, but she felt boyfriends held women back.
The friendly atmosphere of our strange grouping changed suddenly, and I felt it radiating from Natalie. I'd felt this before, it was familiar though I couldn't place a time. Did it have something to do with Kieran? But Kieran was fine right now, in fact he was worried about his girlfriend and was trying to shake her out of whatever held her.
"Wake up," he whispered, "Please wake up, my love."
Delightful flashback to how Kieran and Natalie got together
Kieran: Date me please, I love you so much, you make me feel like I am constantly breathing in water, drowning, but I love drowning in you!
Natalie: But why, I am not special, what the fuck?
Kieran: You are special to me.
Natalie: Will you do some of my math homework? Oh and World History?
Kieran: Yes.
Natalie: Okay, I love you too.
And that's basically how it happened. No, literally, that's what happened, he showed up here, asked her to the movies, that conversation, they went to the Carnival instead and came back ready to marry each other.
You would think Natalie would be more hesitant to jump into a relationship with someone she didn't really know, and who's brother definitely had some psych issues. She doesn't even like vampires.
