sunshine: 2jae (little bird series)

chapter 9

"Hyung!" Bambam and Youngjae yelled as they hugged Jackson who couldn't move much because of the dextrose attached to him. The two had tears in their eyes but not enough for it to drop from their eyes. Jaebum, Jinyoung and Yugyeom entered the room as well, holding snacks amd drinks for everyone.

Mark has been watching over Jackson for almost 36 hours and the tiredness was evident from his eyes. No one forced him to but he wanted to do it, he wanted to take care of the boy who has been smiling widely since he woke up the day before.

"Why don't you rest a bit, hyung? We'll take care of him for today and you can come back tomorrow and help us pack for when he goes home." Jinyoung suggested after Mark let out a huge yawn. Mark looked at Jackson who gave him a reassuring smile and a thumb up (only one since he can't move his other arm woth the dextrose on it).

Mark decided to go home and sleep for a while but didn't forget to list down the things Jackson were and weren't allowed to do.

"Also, i'll be back tonight." he said before being pushed by Yugyeom out the door. The boys laughed at the maknae's antics which made the aura more comfortable.

Not that things became awkward, but everyone was worried. When Jackson got transferred to a private room, he didn't wake up right away so all of them were worried. Mark told them to go home that night and rest, they were called for an investigation the next day because the CCTV footage was reviewed so they couldn't visit Jackson who was wide awake. Mark couldn't text them since he didn't bring a charger because who would've known he'd wake up to Yugyeom carrying him telling him that Jackson was stabbed.

There were happy smiles shared by the 6 boys, they were scared but they wouldn't let that ruin the moment. They wanted to enjoy what was happening right now and how happy they are because everybody's safe.

They didn't want to think of what was going to happen and why Jackson was stabbed in the first place. Jaebum knew it'd be better to tell the others what was actually happening but as Jackson said "They'll get worried." and he knew the boy had a point.

How was Jaebum going to explain that a guy who's obsessed (Jackson's term not his) with him is trying to hurt the most important people to him, hoping that in the end he'll protect them by liking the guy back?

He knew it'd be easier to just act like he likes the guy for him to stop but he couldn't. He can't let Youngjae get hurt like that, he won't be able to endure the thought of hurting the person who brought brightness into his life.

Also, he knew Jinyoung and Jackson would be dissapointed in him if he did that.

"Promise me you'll never give in to that stupid psycho's whims just to protect us or I swear I'll forget we were ever friends." was the words Jinyoung said to him when he talked to the two about it. Jinyoung was always gentle with his words unless he was joking around or acting. But he said those words with authority, like it was final because he said so and that scared Jaebum more than he could ever admit.

Jaebum snapped out of his thoughts when the boys started laughing at Jackson who was imitating a bird at the moment. His butt was out and so was his face but he couldn't move his other arm to a wing position so he started joking around that his other "wing" was injured.

Youngjae started leaning his head unto Jaebum's shoulder, the manner made Jaebum blush and look bashful. Seeing a rare sight, Bambam started making fun of Jaebum's bashful face which made the boys laugh more because of how stupid the younger one looked. Jaebum was about to grab Bambam's neck when there was a knock on the door.

The sliding door of the hospital's private room wasn't tinted but it was blurry so they couldn't exactly see who was outside but it was a guy. Jinyoung opened the door to ask what the guy wanted but shock was all they saw on his face since the couch was beside the door.
