Silence filled the room, no one was sure how to feel about what they just talked about. Bambam and Yugyeom both knew it was bad but he didn't know it was this bad. Mark's head was cleared up as to why Jackson was stabbed and he was knocked out cold. The three who knew what was really happening was hoping for a reaction, but everyone was either looking at the wall or looking at the ground.
And Youngjae? He was still trying to process everything, specially the fact that he was the main target. Someone who loves (though it makes them sick to think that someone would do this out of love) Jaebum, wants him dead because he has his heart. Youngjae was taught to always look for the good in people, but right now he didn't know how.
He wants to protect his friends, the guy stabbed Jackson so who knows what's next. He couldn't deal with the youngest one going through something even more terrible, just for his happiness. He could never be happy if someone else got hurt just for his happiness.
Youngjae thought that maybe if he let Jaebum and that guy be happy, all his friends could be okay and happy. Isn't that what's important? He didn't care about his own happiness, as long as the others were happy.
A knock was heard from the door, it was one of the nurses informing them that they may leave the hospital. Mark guided Jackson to a wheelchair, the younger snorted while claiming that he could walk but Mark pushed him already. Bambam pushed the cart for Jackson's stuff along with Yugyeom who sat on the cart. Jinyoung made sure that they didn't leave anything inside as Jaebum dragged him out claiming that he already took everything, even the blanket.
Youngjae stayed at the back, looking at his friends. He didn't know how he got so lucky to meet such wonderful friends, that's why he knew he needed to do everything for all of them to be okay and for them to not live their lives in fear.
Jaebum noticed Youngjae falling behind so he went to the younger one and grabbed his nape. Youngjae smiled at Jaebum and the familiar feeling crept up on the older one. Youngjae's smile was so contagious that it made his heart hurt, he never understood why but it just does.
The two started walking with the others, it was a happy moment for all of them. Nothing mattered for the 7 boys at that moment, it was like they could conquer whatever might be thrown at them. Everyone wished that they could just stay like that forever, even though they know they can't.
"Dibs on Jinyoung's bed!" Jackson yelled as they decided to sleep over at Jaebum and Jinyoung's. Only Jinyoung's bed was available because Jaebum already reserved his bed for Youngjae.
"He's injured, let him be." Mark said as he looked at Yugyeom's pouting face. Everyone was on the couch, they didn't know how they did it but all 7 of them were on 1 couch.
"What if the guy sneaks into school tomorrow again?" Bambam worriedly asked. Yugyeom was the only one unharmed, except for Jaebum and Youngjae who he figured would be attacked last.
"Then we fight. We'll fight back, he's done too much damage." Jinyoung replied. He figured that since they know what was going on, they won't be surprised if they get called to the Dean's office. He just didn't want them to worry, that's why he wanted it to be a secret.
"I'm scared, what if he shoots me or something." Yugyeom sleepily said. They were hoping that it wouldn't go to that extent but they can't help but worry as well. Who knew what he's got up his sleeves, the guy was sick.
Jaebum had his arm around Youngjae's waist while the younger one had his head on Jaebum's shoulder. The two looked too comfortable to the point that Bambam had too act like he was about to barf and the other boys laughed.
"Hyung let's go to the rooftop." Youngjae said as he pulled Jaebum up and the older one immediately kissed the younger one on the forehead. The action earned wolf whistles from the boys who hurriedly moved because they got more space.
The two intertwined their hands as they walked to the elevator. There was no one inside as they entered, which made Jaebum ecstatic. As the doors closed, he couldn't fight the urge to kiss the younger one. Youngjae was shocked, he immediately tried to get over it and kissed back. It was sweet, not rushed but not dragging either and it was full of love. Jaebum stopped as he felt hot liquid on his cheek, he was catching his breath and saw Youngjae crying.
"What's wrong?" he asked the younger one, using his thumb to wipe the other ones tears. Youngjae kept on shaking his head while crying and Jaebum didn't understand why. Was it something he did? Did Youngjae feel like he was forcing him?
The elevator opened, which means they were at the rooftop. Youngjae went out of the rooftop and didn't mind the rain, Jaebum followed with worry in his eyes. He wasn't sure if he knew the boy too much or it was obvious, but he could see that there were more tears in his face than raindrops.
Youngjae was ready, he might be crying but he was ready to tell Jaebum what he's been thinking the whole day. He was sure that he wanted to do this for the sake of their friends' happiness and safety. He needs to let Jaebum go, again.
Maybe they just weren't meant for each other, maybe the love that he was getting from Jaebum could also be found in another person. He kept on thinking about the saying that goes "If we're really meant to be together, destiny will find its way".
Jaebum looked lost, Youngjae thought it would be better to do it in the rain instead of seeing his hyung crying again and because of him again. He began thinking why Jaebum even loves him when all he ever does is hurt him. He thinks he doesn't deserve this man standing in front of him, waiting for him to say something. He couldn't take it anymore and decided to say what he wanted to say.
"Hyung, we shouldn't be-" he started but was cut off.
"No." Jaebum said with finality. Youngjae looked at Jaebum who looked angry and pissed. He'd never seen that look on Jaebum's face before. It was like Jaebum was done letting Youngjae do whatever he wanted to do with him.
"You don't even know what i'm gonna say." Youngjae said trying to step back as Jaebum started walking to him slowly.
"You're gonna try to leave me again. Heck no Choi Youngjae!" the older one said with eyes full of determination. It was obvious for him what Youngjae wanted to happen, but no.
Youngjae thought it would be easy, but Jaebum was making it impossible. His eyes were mixed with anger, hurt and determination which resulted into tears falling from his eyes. Youngjae has never seen Jaebum like this but he decided to kiss the older one.
For Jaebum, the kiss was a promise that Youngjae would never try to leave him again. For Youngjae, it was a goodbye.
