The next morning, Reio woke up to find herself still enveloped in Sam's arms. She thought over last night's events. Did she do it out of spite or her lost love for Sam? She wasn't quite sure yet, but she had a few days to think about it. Rhint would give her space before seeking after her. Hopefully an answer would come to her by then.
Reio leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on Sam's lips. He stirred a little, pulling her body closer to his. Reio giggled before gently nipping his neck. "Wake up sleepy head."
Sam grumbled something Reio couldn't understand before releasing his hold on her. Reio sat up and stretched her arms over her head. She hadn't made an effort to stand yet, but she could tell that she was going to walk funny for a while. She heard Sam chuckle and turned to see him smiling at her.
"And what's so funny Mr. Jessi?" Reio asked.
"Just admiring my handiwork, baby." Sam reached out and rubbed a thumb over the bruise his teeth had made on her left shoulder.
Reio rolled her eyes before taking his hand in hers and playfully biting his thumb. "You better be thankful it's not summer. I would kill you if my brothers saw it and started asking questions."
Sam laughed again before sitting up. He pulled his hand out of Reio's grasp and locked his fingers in her hair, gently pulling her head to the side so he could kiss her bruise. Reio closed her eyes and sighed, wrapping her arms around his neck. He moved up from her shoulder to her ear. Reio shivered when he took her earlobe in his teeth, tugging gently.
Reio pulled back so she could look Sam in the eyes. "As much as I would love to go for round two with you, I'm starving. You should make me pancakes."
Sam smirked before releasing his hold on her. "You're no fun."
Reio got out of bed and started gathering their clothing. She was thankful that she could walk without visibly limping, but her thighs were very sore. "Sorry dear but bodies need sustenance before participating in strenuous activities."
Sam groaned. "Ok ok I get it. Stop boring me to death."
Reio giggled before tossing Sam's clothes at him. "Ok goofball, get dressed and stop staring at my ass."
Sam just laughed before standing. As he walked towards the bathroom, clothing in one hand, he popped Reio's backside with the other. He dodged before she could retaliate. "Your ass is just too perfect not to stare at. See you downstairs Songbird."
Reio took a shower and got dressed before heading downstairs. She was a little worried about her brothers seeing Sam in the house instead of Rhint. She was hoping that their hunt was an overnight one.
She rounded the corner to the kitchen to see Sam setting a heaping mound of pancakes on the dinner table. She nearly jumped for joy. She hadn't been kidding about being hungry. He had even made her favorite pancakes, blueberry.
"You outdid yourself again Sam." Reio said as she plopped down at the table. "I'm going to gain weight on this vacation I can feel it."
Sam grinned evilly at her as he sat down. "Don't worry babe, I'll help you keep it off."
Reio smiled at him as she poured syrup onto her pancakes. "I'm sure you would. But I'm sure the boys will be back today so you probably won't get the chance to."
"I have a completely empty house two doors down. We'll get the chance."
They continued their flirty banter as they ate. Reio was enjoying every second of the attention she had been craving for months. She was just irritated that she had to go seeking it from her ex instead of her husband. For a fleeting moment, she worried about him. Wondered what he was thinking right now and how bad he would explode in anger once he found out what she had done. She pushed those thoughts from her mind, refocusing on Sam and his kind smile and loving eyes.
