The next morning Diego rounded Reio and Warren up for a day full of sibling related things. They spent the entire day out on the water drinking, fishing, and having a grand time with just the three of them. No one had any distractions or worries. It was one of the best days Reio had had in a long time.
Sydney had also caught the nostalgia bug because she called Ko and had the old crew spend some time together. Even though Reio saw Ko a lot more than Syd and Sam did thanks to their jobs, they still had a great time catching up and hanging out together again. They even almost got arrested, thanks to Sydney and Ko's big mouths.
Reio and Sam spent as much time as they could together, just talking and being near each other. Reio was still torn between her feelings for both Sam and Rhint. She needed to make up her mind quick, before things got too complicated.
At the end of the week, Reio packed up her stuff and said goodbye to everyone before heading back home to the Fae Realm. Once she landed at the meeting house station, there was a carriage waiting for her. The driver helped her with her bags and into the carriage, where she was greeted by the smiling face of her husband.
"I'm glad to see you back home." Rhint said, taking her hand on his and kissing her fingers.
"I'm honestly surprised you came to get me yourself." Reio didn't mean to sound as hateful as it did.
Rhint smiled at her without releasing her hand. "I'm trying to be a better man. I don't want to keep driving you away. I love you too much to lose you."
Reio smiled and squeezed his hand. It felt good to hear him say that. She hoped that this new leaf version of him will be enough to keep her from cheating with Sam. And hopefully just spending time with her in his arms would be enough for Sam not to be depressed. It was a complicated system, but Reio was confident that she could keep it up.
The carriage arrived at the Fae castle and Rhint helped her out before leading her through the hallways towards their bedroom. Once inside Reio was blown away by what she saw. The entire room was covered in colorful flowers: every surface except the bed was covered in potted flowers where the walls had flowering vines hanging from the ceiling in interlacing patterns.
"Wow," Reio gaped, constantly trying to look everywhere at once. "This is amazing."
Rhint chuckled as he waved a hand over the closest plant. Reio watched in amazement as the plant shimmered gold before transforming from red roses to blue irises. Reio couldn't believe it, Rhint was the one that created this beautiful scene completely out of glamour.
"You're the one controlling this?" Reio gestured to the room. "I didn't know you could do glamour?"
"I have been working on it for a long time." Rhint closed the gap between them and took her hands in his. "Today has been the first day I've tried maintaining anything this big."
Reio couldn't believe it. Rhint had always been an oddball in the powers department, given that he was actually a science experiment and not a Demon by birth. But he had worked hard enough to train himself to accomplish some pretty high level glamour.
"I remembered you saying once that you'd like to go to the rainforest and see all the colorful flowers bloom." Rhint led her to the bed and sat down with her. "That was the inspiration for this."
Before Reio could say anything, Rhint closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The room started to shimmer and transform into a dense and vibrant forest, complete with sounds of parrots and monkeys. There were big, colorful flowers all around them and soft sunlight trickling through the trees, bathing them both in streaks of light. Reio was awestruck. This was so beautiful and intricate.
