Sam wanted to stay for a while but Reio made him go home. She couldn't risk anyone in the castle seeing him and starting rumors. The next day Reio traveled to the Human World to get the blood tests done.
Thankfully, her brothers weren't home. She wondered if that was Remy's doing. Sam seemed relieved as well.
"Alright you two," Remy packed the two vials of blood he took from each of them into a plastic holder. "I'll get these to a lab and have results for you in 5 to 6 days."
They waited until Remy had packed up and left the kitchen before speaking again.
"So what are we going to do with ourselves for that long?" Sam asked, leaning back against the counter.
Reio could see he looked tense. She could relate right now. "Let's go hide out at your place. I don't want to face my brothers right now."
Sam couldn't hide the relief on his face, "Not a bad idea."
They retreated to Sam's residence a few houses down. Once they walked in, Reio was surprised at how empty it looked. There was a small couch and a TV in the living room, and a small table in the kitchen with a single chair. The kitchen appliances were the only things that looked well used.
Sam shut the door and headed for the fridge. "Sorry about the lack of anything in here. When you live alone, you don't need much."
Reio moves to hold the door open while he pulls out two beers. He was about to hand one over to her when he stopped himself.
"Shit, I forgot about the-" He trails off, looking at the bottle in his hand.
Reio smiles before reaching in for a bottle of water. "It's alright. It's still new for all of us."
Sam twisted off the cap of his beer before putting the spare one back. Reio let the fridge door close before leaning back against the counter. Even though she was putting on a happy face, she was an emotional wreck on the inside. Everything was riding on that blood test, and she had to distract herself for almost a week.
She looked over at Sam, watching him. She kept thinking about how many times she had led him down a path that only ended in pain, a pain he didn't deserve. Why did she need to keep coming back to his arms only to disappear and hurt him again? What if this baby was his? Maybe this was a sign that she had chosen wrong all those years ago.
"You trying to read my mind or something?" Sam's words snapped her out of her thoughts.
"No, just lost in my own head." Reio smiled at him, lacing her fingers with his before leading him towards the couch.
Reio pushed Sam down onto the couch before plopping down beside him. She could hear him chuckle as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"What are you giggling about?" Reio asked, playing with Sam's fingers. His hands could completely engulf hers.
"Nothing. My mind is just in the gutter."
Reio sat up and gave Sam a playfully stern look. "What? Did you think I was going to seduce you?"
Sam raised his hands in surrender. "No need to jump down my throat about it. Can't blame a guy's mind."
Reio stood up in front of him, crossing her arms over her chest. "I am offended that you would think of me that way."
Sam leaned forward, a grin on his face. "Sorry, but next time you should be a little more clear about your actions."
"Oh really?" Reio pushed Sam back before straddling his lap, positioning herself just right so it would drive him wild. "Is this clear enough for you?"
Sam's grin got wider as he grabbed her hips, his claws tugging at the fabric of her shorts. "Crystal."
Reio pulled Sam's face to hers, smiling as his eyes flooded with black. He stayed still, letting her take the lead. She ghosted a kiss over his lips before tilting his head back. He growled as she nipped at his throat and collarbone. She could tell he was growing restless, his fingers nearly digging into her hips.
Once she started to grind against him Sam lost all control. He was on his feet and had Reio against a wall before she could blink. He crushed his mouth against hers, ripping open her shirt and sending buttons flying everywhere. He bra soon followed suit.
She would have laughed if Sam hadn't just moved his mouth down her neck to her breasts. She arched her back with a moan, giving him better access. She was so sensitive that after just a few flicks of his tongue she felt like she was going to explode.
Reio locked her fingers in Sam's dark hair, pulling him away from her chest. A growl of protest rumbled in his throat, his black eyes locking with hers.
"You going to carry me somewhere more comfortable?" Reio whispered against his ear, running the fingers of her free hand down the tensed muscles of his arm. She could feel him trembling with anticipation. "Because I'm not going to let you put splinters in my ass."
Sam laughed as he pulled her flush against him. "As you wish, Songbird."
Sam carried Reio up the steps to the balcony looking out over the water. He laid her down on a soft pile of blankets before removing his clothes.
"Sammy Jessi, the romantic." Reio laughed, lifting her hips so he could pull off her shorts. His claws tickled as they trailed down her skin.
Sam grinned as he crawled back on top of her, kissing different locations as he went. "If I do my part right, you won't give a shit about the scenery."
Reio pushed her knee between his legs, getting a muffled curse in response. "Then get your sexy ass moving."
She didn't had to tell him twice. He skipped all the foreplay and seated himself fully inside her. She moaned as he did so, angling her hips so he would hit all the right spots as he went. But he didn't move right away, making Reio squirm with impatience.
Sam finally cupped Reio's face and kissed her, soft and gentle. He started to move, but his pace matched his kissing. Reio was surprised at first, but soon got lost in the moment.
The buildup was slow and sensual, causing tears to start falling from Reio's eyes. When the peak finally came, she was sad that the moment had to come to an end. She wanted to feel like this forever. She buried her face in his neck, crying his name as he made her come. He thrust into her a few more times before his own release.
He kissed away her tears as he started to pull out, but she stopped him. She pulled him down on top of her, making him rest his head on her chest. He wrapped his arms around her, enveloping her in warmth. Neither of them said a word. Just stayed in each other's arms as they drifted off to sleep.
