Reio and Sydney spent the next few hours catching up and avoiding talking about either Rhint or Sam. Syd was very good at keeping Reio's mind off of something, and she was thankful for that talent. They decided to go to lunch and shop around some. They ate at their favorite café from high school and spent hours clothes shopping and being normal girlfriends. It was therapeutic for Reio.

It was dinner time before they decided to head back to the house. Reio had turned off her phone so she couldn't chance talking to Rhint again. When they got into the taxi, Reio switched it back on to see that Diego and Sam had both called. She quickly called back her brother, hoping that he wasn't worried about her.

"Geez, I thought you were here to visit me not spend all day with your BFF." Diego teased as soon as he answered.

"Sorry but I had to kidnap her." Sydney said into the phone. "I called dibs you know."

Diego laughed. "Guess I didn't hear you from all the way over two blocks. Just bring my little sister back in one piece. I call next."

The taxi dropped Syd off at her house and Reio hugged her goodbye before asking the driver to take her home. Once she got there she was greeted by Diego standing in the driveway.

"Don't make any plans for tomorrow cause I'm throwing a family party!" Diego looked excited as he followed Reio into the house.

Reio paused at the foot of the stairs, leaning on the railing. "Oh really? And what's the special occasion?"

"Nothing really. It's just been a while since us Ashwood siblings have done anything fun together. And don't bother trying to get any info outta me. It's all a big secret till tomorrow."

Reio put her hands up in mock defeat. "Well I'll just go ahead and accept defeat. I'll be in my room complaining about how much more clever my brother is than me."

Diego grinned at her, "That's right. I'm the smartest of the three of us."

Reio rolled her eyes. "Sure. Yell at me when dinner's done."

Reio retreated into her bedroom and locked the door. She collapsed backwards onto her bed and pulled out her cell phone. She was going to go ahead and start patching things up with Rhint. She sent him a text saying that she was with Diego and Warren and not to worry about her anymore. She added on that she was sorry for running off. She wasn't ready to apologize for getting upset with him. That was for a face to face conversation, if one was going to happen.

Rhint didn't reply right off, so she tossed the phone aside and rested the crook of her elbow over her eyes. She was just about to doze off when she heard something hit her window. She looked over to see Sam grinning at her from outside her second story window.

"You couldn't have used the front door?" Reio teased as she crossed the room to let him in. He had been hovering using his translucent black wings and had to grab hold of the sill before making them disappear so he could climb inside.

"That's too mainstream for me." Sam grinned. "I prefer a challenge."

Reio rolled her eyes. "You just didn't want to have to explain to everyone downstairs why you're hanging around here so much."

Sam placed a hand on both of her hips and pulled her closer to him. "You saw right through my ruse. So I'm sure you can guess what I'm thinking now."

Reio bit back a moan as he started to softly kiss her neck. "What happened to taking long showers?"

"Didn't do it for me. I need the real deal, not just old memories." Sam's voice was low and gravelly as he spoke against her ear. Reio couldn't hold back this time, the familiar feeling of longing starting to build in her gut.
