Moping around

Yoongi had barely left his room for a week except for classes. He only ever lied in his bed regretting ever going out on that date with Jimin. Hoseok and Tae tried to comfort him but he wasn't letting them. Jungkook had gone back home before the date even ended, and Yoongi was semi grateful for that because at least the stupid fetus wouldn't be bothering him.

He was in his one of his music classes spacing out towards the window. Namjoon sat behind him, not that it mattered, the two never spoke to each other anyways. The day felt dull and everything red made his heart ache. His thoughts were interrupted by the tip of a pencil being dug into his neck.

"Hey Min." The voice behind him said. He forgot it was Namjoon for a moment.

He shrunk his neck and flinched. "Ah! What?"

"Do you wanna work on this assignment together? I have a feeling our styles will go well together." Namjoon began to bite the end of his pencil.

"What?" Yoongi hadn't been paying attention.

"The project." He took the pencil out of his mouth and pointed to the board with it.

Yoongi looked over to the board and saw words scribbled onto it. It took him a moment to begin processing the words. The assignment was to pair up with at least one other person and produce a six song tracklist by the end of the semester. Yoongi didn't like projects but this one sparked an interest in him. He looked over at Namjoon, from what Yoongi learned about him he was the number one student in his class and has been since forever ago. Why would he want to work with a slacker like Yoongi?

"So?" Namjoon asked.

"I guess so. Do we want to recruit anybody else in the group?" Yoongi said looking around the class. He didn't find anyone particularly interesting but he figured the more people the easier and faster the project would be.

Namjoon shook his head. "No, I prefer to work in smaller groups. I don't want to work with anyone I would have to carry to a good grade."

"Do you think you would have to carry me to a good grade?" It was a question that just slipped out.

Namjoon just gave him a sly smile. "Give me your number so we can contact each other for work. Also, I have my own studio granted to me by the school over in the left music wing. So let's work there."

They traded numbers and class ended. For some reason Yoongi was really looking forward to working with Namjoon. Maybe he will be able to figure out why he was so familiar.

Yoongi sat by himself during lunch. He was still in his self pity mode about the whole Jimin thing and chose to avoid Tae and Hoseok who only ever tried to make things better, which yes, is what good friends do but Yoongi want comforting. He wanted solitude. He just sat under a large shaded tree.

He didn't even have lunch that day so while he was shuffling through songs on his phone he heard a "ahem" in front of him. To be honest the owner of the voice sounded a bit rude so Yoongi deliberately kept shuffling through songs. When the person wouldn't leave he finally looked up, the person's face was almost too pretty to see. It was Jin.

"Can I help you?" Yoongi pulled out a single earbud.

Jin just looked down on Yoongi for a moment. "Well not me but..."

"But."

"Jimin."

Yoongi's eyes widened. What happened to Jimin? What he okay? He didn't even try to hide the worries in his voice. "Is he okay? Did something happen to him?"

Jin smirked. "So you do care about him?"

"What..." Yoongi didn't get his point."Well...yes."

"If you care about him, then why did you dump him on the date?" Jin suddenly changed from a kinda rude pretty boy to an overprotective mother. He bombarded Yoongi with a billion and one questions. "Did you get bored in the middle of the date? Did you think he was just a toy? Did you think he was just a one day sort of thing? Do you think you will get away for throwing my son in the trash like a used tissue!!!!"

Yoongi watched Jin rage and when he felt morally threatened he got up and ran for his life. When he thought he was far enough away to slow down he turned around and he saw the most unexpected sight ever. Jin was full pace sprinting Yoongi down, he could see the red in Jin's eyes. God, why was Jin so fast?

Yoongi was tackled to the ground and Jin placed himself over him so Yoongi couldn't escape. Both were breathing hard from all the running and Yoongi gave up trying to run away. Holy crap, why was this guy so scary?

Jin pinned Yoongi's wrist to the ground. "What... did... you... do to... my son?"

"Dude, get off me! Aren't you too young to have a son?"

"Jimin! Do you know what Jimin has been doing since your fuck up date you took him on?" He paused and let Yoongi come up with a few guesses in his head. "Nothing! He's been moping around in his dorm to god damn depressed to even try anything."

Yoongi processed everything that had been said. "Jimin... actually cares. Like he hasn't moved on yet?" He thought that of all people, Jimin would be able to move on, it's not like him and Yoongi even had anything special going on. It was just one messed up date.

Jin looked down at Yoongi in disgust. "Of course! He's human! Do you even know how he reacted when you asked him out? He woke me up at like two in the freakin morning, screaming. And now he's the saddest face on the earth."

Yoongi just stared at Jin, Jimin actually cared. No, he cares and because of Yoongi, Jimin was moping around with a sorry expression just as Yoongi was. Yoongi could feel his gut wrench in the thought of causing Jimin pain, he knew, yes he knew that the end of the date had been cut off roughly but he just thought Jimin would be left unfazed. He was almost touched that Jimin cared, but at the same time he wish Jimin didn't care. If he didn't care maybe Yoongi would have moved on in a few months but now he knew Jimin cared and moving on didn't even seem like an option.

Yoongi stood on that spot on the roof that he liked so much, bringing with him a strawberry milk. He pulled out his phone after thinking and staring at the stars for a while. He wished he never took Jimin on that date, it ruined everything. But everything wasn't much because they weren't even close. All Yoongi could ever do was just watch Jimin from a distance and the one time he got close he had to mess it all up. He pulled out his phone, he knew that at least this way he could clear up understanding without being a jerk.

Yoongi: Jimin, it's Yoongi. Are you still awake?

Jimin: Yeah but I'm about to leave for a party

Yoongi: Then I won't keep you

I just wanted to apologize for the date. It was a mistake.

Jimin: So going on a date was a mistake. Glad to know you think so

Yoongi: No, wait. Not the date, just the way I acted. I just didn't know how to act or react and the date was honestly rushed and I really like you Jimin. I know I can't say that to your face right now but I want to one day.

Jimin: ... I don't know how to react.

Yoongi: Please, just don't hate me and don't feel sad about me. I'm not worth being upset over and know that I like you. I like like you. I like your hair, and your lips, and your smile, and your eyelids.

Jimin: My eyelids?

Yoongi: I know it's weird.

Jimin: I can't say that I like you right now, but let's be friends for now.

Maybe one day when you can say it to my face.

So theres this cute boy at my school who's a grade below, and I really thought we had something going, you know? He gave me the every so generic nickname "shorty" and I was like yasss, my time has come to get a bf. But than I find out he called everyone that and he's just a major flirt  and tried to hook up with on of the freshman and now....

Unless your name is Yoongi, Jimin, Seokjin, Namjoon, Hoseok, Taehyung, or Jungkook I'm not interested.
