"Hey big brother. I've been good. Work is getting stressful, as always ." I let out small chuckle. "but nothing I can't handle."
"You're tough. You grew up with me. " he laughs. "Is something wrong? You usually text me. " he inquires.
" Not necessarily. Just had some free time this morning before I left for work. What have you been up to?" I return.
"Work has been good. The pace never really changes when you fight fires for a living. " I laugh. Brendan is a firefighter in back Chicago.
We talk the entirety of my journey to work and into the building. He tells me how the city is, the rest of my family, and anything really. He asks about Namjoon, the rest of the boys and how Seoul is. Texting only relies so many emotions and lacks a sense of comfort-ability, so talking to him on the phone is always feels like I'm home.
Finally I have to let him go as I really need to get started on my work and Brendan is starting the night shift at the firehouse tonight.
" Alright big brother. I'm gonna let you go. We both have work to attend to. I miss you. And love you. Stay safe." I say.
" Love and miss you too. Come home soon. Don't let the fangirls get you." He laughs.
I hang up and pull up footage from a Bangtan Bomb that I need to finish editing. I smile as the boys goof around, always causing mayhem and always making me feel better.
I work for a few hours on just editing some videos and then I start looking at new camera equipment. I'm due for some new lights for my YouTube videos, which reminds to post a video. I already know what I want to talk about, living in a foreign land so far from home. It ties perfectly into what I'm feeling now. Since, I want this to be a more scripted video than just a free talk. I get started on a list and minor commentary about what its like to live in another country where the literary and cultural differences.
I work for a couple hours, switching between my commentary list and editing, the CEO calls for a meeting with the concert/tour production team. Which includes me. I sigh, grab my laptop and walk to the large meeting room. I'm one of the first people there so I sit towards the back. I open up a blank Word Document on my laptop just so I can take notes for this meeting. Soon enough, more staff members flood in the room, taking up the empty seats around me. The last ones to enter are the reason for this meeting, BTS, file in after the CEO. They sit in the innermost ring of the chairs. The tables are set up in semi circles, with 8 chairs on the inner circle and more on the outside and so on. I'm in the third ring of chairs and off to the side.
*Thank you for attending this meeting. As you know, BTS have released their new album, Wings. Since this is a the second full-length album, we are going to be planning a tour showcasing the new songs and concepts. This tour will be Live Trilogy Episode III, and most likely the final one. Judging on our timing and future events, it seems that we can have a tour by early 2017. * The CEO drones on.
I type on my keyboard, taking down information that benefits my department of the tour crew. That being the cameras, anything to do with the video projection screens and controlling what I call the Hen Nest, which is where the main data boards for audio, lighting, camera, media screens, dead mic, etc are located. Which is generally somewhere on the audience floor, so we can assess whats going on. I lock eyes with those I have worked with during tours and concerts, we were like a well oiled machine and always looked out for each other. I shoot my hand into the air as soon as the CEO asks for questions.
I slightly bow my head before asking, * Sir, what potential cities would the tour stop in and how many stops would there be?* I lock eyes with Namjoon and smile slightly. He knows the reason behind my inquisition.
He ponders my question, * Since this could quite possibly turn out to be a world tour, we expect the number of stops to be around 25 or 30 which would be in Asia, South America and North America, if we can land a spot at any venues.* I beam at the answer of North America because that means there could potentially be a show in, or around, Chicago and I can finally see my family. I could try to get them tickets to the show, or just hang out with them for a day or two. Which is long over due at this point.
He goes into the finances and other topics that bore me so I take out my phone and hid it behind my screen. I text my brother to tell him the news, but to swear that he will not share the information at all with our parents. He swears and says he hopes that the boys go to Chicago. I sneakily snap a picture of the boys and send it in our group chat with a caption that perfectly describes my enthusiasm. I see a few of them glance at their phones and break into a slight grin.
Throughout the rest of the meeting, I think of how hard the boys are going to be working, how busy everything is going to get, the late nights of practice and being to tired to eat. I make more personal notes as reminders of things to get for tour when it comes. little things for the boys' benefits, like honey tea for the vocal chords, pain killers and instant heat packs for main dancers, so on. I'm like a mom when it comes to tour for the boys and my own team of those on the floor and in the Hen Nest.
The meeting ends after being in the conference room for 2 and half hours. Everyone chatters with anticipation and excitement. I talk with one of the traveling makeup artists about the funny things that happened on the last tour when a hand grabs my shoulder. I turn and meet my boyfriend's gleaming eyes. I say bye to the makeup artist and follow Namjoon to a hallway that is less traveled. He pulls me into a hug and kisses me out of excitement.
* Baby, I can't believe it! A world tour! This is going to be huge!* I squeal. I chitter about the everything. He chuckles at me as he grabs my spastic hands. He leans in close to my face and kisses my forehead.
*What's even better is that I'll have my muse there with me everyday. Most idols aren't that fortunate. That's how I know I'm the luckiest guy out there.* He admits. My cheeks immediately flare up. I hit his chest lightly. He just grins at my embarrassed reaction. * Do you want to get some late lunch to celebrate? *
We end up at a nicer type of restaurant, which made what I wore look inappropriate. I had on black leggings with ankle cutouts, a hooded sweater and flats. I was clearly worried about it because I kept fidgeting in my seat.
*Baby you look fine. Don't worry. The societal pressures to constantly be presentable will slowly drive the world insane...*
*I appreciate it. Thank you, but no need to go into some deep philosophical rant, Joonie.* I cut him off and laugh.
We enjoy a nice lunch of black bean noodles, bulgolgi, and kimchi. In between mouthfuls of food, we talk about the upcoming tour and the preparations that need to be made, like dancers, practice, stage sets, so on. Namjoon gets a text halfway through lunch causing the both of us to look up from our delicious food. I cock my eyebrow, inquiring who it is. He slides the lock screen open to reveal his phone background, which is a Kim Daily photo of the both of us from awhile ago, and opens his messages. He reads for a second before responding to me,
* Its from Jaebum, he wants to know if we all want to go to dinner with them tomorrow. * I nod.
*you guys should go, it'll be fun to break the routine every once in a while. You all have been working extremely hard.* I explain. *it'll be nice to have the dorm to myself for once, I can finally catch up on my shows.* I say with glee.
Namjoon goes on about that the invite was extended to me as well and how they'd all want me there or else it won't be the same.
*Baby, spend some time with just the guys. I'll always be home when you get back.* I say with a sincere smile, hoping he can pick up that I truly don't mind if he goes out with the other boys. He doesn't need to spend every waking minute with me, he's allowed to act like a guy his age. I grab his hand in reassurance.
He just cracks a grin, "Thank you for being the best girlfriend ever."
Well tjis is thr next chapter. Hopefully you like it. I tried to incorporate all my knowledge of concerts/tours I've picked up over my many years of working for Live nation. Also I saw the Wings tour in Chicago and it was amazing im every aspect. I'm so proud of the boys and all they've accomplished. I can post pictures if anyone wants any.
Thank you again. Please enjoy. ~.~
