Shafts of light shine in from the cracks in the walls, making the layers of dust visible. Twinn already sat in the corner, grooming herself. Witchey sat up and yawned. Rise and shine. She jumped. Witchey had forgotten that the amulet could talk. Fortunately, she didn't have hunting duty.
You know what? I don't think I ever introduced myself. My name is Servoj, and this is... Witchey's tails twitched. Er... I think we need to retrieve Ruix. "Ruix?..." Witchey stared at Servoj. Yeah. Time for a little morning adventure! Witchey stood up. She might as well listen to the amulet.
Witchey felt the impact of the stone road hitting her paw pads. She had only been running for a few minutes, but it felt like hours due to the burning heat. And... go down those steps. It was rather annoying, having to listen to Servoj giving her directions, but she would be lost without them. She turned right and pried a door open and ran down the steps. She recognized them, this is where Witchey had found the Amulet.
Witchey skidded to a stop at the bottom of the steps, panting. Aha! Hello Ruix! She lifted her head. A thick book lay at the bottom of the steps. She squinted with confusion. Er... hello! Witchey's eyes widened. There was another voice... except it was much more refined. It was not the amulet speaking. Um. Pleased to meet you! "So is it the book talking?" She hissed to Servoj. Yes. I'd like to introduce you to... Ruix! My favorite talking book! Witchey shook her head. A talking necklace... and now a talking book?! She picked up the book with her teeth and started running back to the shack.
Witchey put down Ruix and inspected the blue ring on the ground. "What's this?" She wondered. Oh! That's called a sapphire! Witchey cocked her head. She would add it to her collection. She looked at Ruix, then the ring. She couldn't hold both. "Servoj? Is there any way that you can hold Ruix?" She asked. Mmmmmm I don't think so... but... Hey Ruix can you like float or something? Witchey resisted the urge to roll her eyes. The book shuddered. She took a step back. Ruix slowly rose up. Hmm. I guess I can. Witchey shook her head. This day was getting crazier and crazier.
Witchey added the ring to her collection and put Ruix on her shelf. She reported to Leng to see if she had hunting duty. She did.
