Gypsy smiled softly as she helped pack up their camp in the cave remembering last night and how they couldn’t seem to get enough of each other. She had to admit she was a little sore, but she would never tell Daryl that, he wouldn’t touch her for another two weeks and she was not having that at all. She had no idea how much she had missed him until they were together.
“What’s that smile for?” Daryl smirked, nudging her with his shoulder
Gypsy laughed softly and shook her head.
“Just happy is all….do you think we could come back here again?” She asked, wrapping her arms around his waist.
“You know it” he said softly, kissing the tip of her nose. “I was actually thinking that if someday we would get separated and we were near Alexandria or Hilltop then this should be our meeting spot. If we’re at the Kingdom then we can meet up at your cabin”
Gypsy looked at him a little concerned
“Do you think something like that is going to happen?” she asked quietly
Daryl thought for a moment to try and answer her so she wouldn’t worry.
“No, not really but it doesn’t hurt to have a plan. With the world the way it is, you just never know. I just feel better knowing there’s a safe place for us to go if we need it” he said, kissing her lips tenderly
Gypsy nodded, understanding what he was saying
“True, but I’m not sure I could ever find this place again” she laughed “It’s pretty well hidden”
“It is” Daryl agreed “But I’ll show you a trick, there are some land marks around here that could help you”
Gypsy smiled and kissed him sweetly as they swung their packs on their backs and began making their way back down the path and to the truck. Daryl true to his word, pointed out certain trees and rocks as Gypsy took mental notes. She dearly hoped they would never be separated or have to meet here in an emergency but she supposed it didn’t hurt to be prepared.
Climbing into the truck, she felt the nerves she had earlier about driving fall away. Looking over at Daryl who maneuvered the truck around and turned back onto the road, she slid over next to him, resting her head on his shoulder.
Daryl smiled and looked down at Gypsy and felt his heart swell. He had hoped and a prayed that this place would bring her a little peace and seeing her next to him again, he knew it had worked. It would still take some time to help her deal with all of her emotional baggage but at least they had taken a step in the right direction. Putting his arm around her and kissing her on top of the head, he couldn’t believe the amount of hope he had. He hadn’t felt like this since everything fell apart.
Driving up to Alexandria’s gate, Daryl and Gypsy watched the gate slide slowly open as he pulled the truck in. Getting out, Gypsy suddenly felt shy seeing all the smiling faces that came to greet Daryl and look at her curiously. Gypsy noticed the pretty girl Tara right away and couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy. She knew what Daryl had said, but what if he just told her that so she wouldn’t worry?
“Hey trouble” Tara said hugging Daryl “and is this the infamous Gypsy? I’m so glad to finally meet you” Tara smiled
Gypsy felt awkward and terrible thinking bad thoughts about Daryl and this girl.
“Nice to meet you” Gypsy said softly, not sure what else to say.
“Hey brother” a voice boomed and Gypsy felt relief seeing Rick approach them, she at least knew him. Gypsy watched them give each other a bear hug. “And hello to you Gypsy” Rick smiled
