The crowd is silent for a few moments, before erupting into chaos. I make to pull Max towards me and take her away from the crowd, but she is pulled out of my arms.

My brain shuts down and I go into panic mode, not even thinking to use my alpha power to control the mass of people. I just need to find Max! She can barely stand other people and now she was lost to the sea of my pack while they were all riled up.

"Max!" I cry into the crowd, spinning around and trying to spot her pretty white haired head, but I can't see her.

I shove people out of my way, heading off in the direction I think she was pulled in. my pack argues loudly over each other, trying to come up with theories as to how she got here, and solutions to none existent problems.

Suddenly, gunshots sound over the loud voices of my pack, followed by their pained screams. A few bodies crumple to the grass, creating complete and utter chaos and panic.

I snarl and shift into my wolf, followed by most of the others as even more bodies fall. Emerging from the woods is a small army of humans, carrying machine guns as they fired at us.

I let out an angry howl, before charging at the closets one, ripping the gun out of his hands, before pouncing on his fragile body and pinning him to the ground as I tore into him. A bullet pierces my side, making me roll off the man to avoid more of their fire.

I come up and sprint for the shooter, dodging his attempts at shooting me. I leap up onto him, biting into his throat as I tackle him to the ground. As soon as his body makes contact with the ground, I'm sprinting off towards the next soldier, his corpse bleeding onto the grass.

My pack members attack the other soldiers, avenging the fallen members, while even more fall. I take out as many soldiers as I can, earning more injuries in the process, but more still come.

We finally manage to kill the last soldier, leaving the yard a bloody mess. Bodies litter the ground, their blood staining the once green grass.

Suddenly, a massive white bear, with four light brown socks, pushes through the forest, carrying a crying Ava. It takes me only a moment to realize it's Max. I notice her entire body is covered in bullet wounds and her ghost white fur is matted with dark red blood.

She moves to take a step towards me, but three of my pack members tackle her to the ground. Unprepared, and weakened, Max collapses to the ground, turning slightly to give Ava enough time to get off, as they tear into her side.

I let out the most vicious growl and bound over to them, but Ava beat me two them.

"Stop! That is your Luna!" she cries, punching two of the massive wolves in the face.

The instantly jump back, whimpering, with their tails between their legs. I move strait to Max's side and nudge her gently with my snout. She lifts her head up just enough to hit my leg, but she collapses back to the ground with a heavy sigh.

Her bear eyes start to close, making my wolf howl in agony. I shift quickly into my human and kneel beside her bear just as she falls unconscious. I rub her fur as the doctor comes running through the bodies, tending the wounded, tears running down the corners of my eyes.

"You're going to be okay Max," I whisper, placing a kiss on her massive bear head.

I stare down at Max's pale form, lying in the hospital bed. I have her hand gripped in my own as I place gentle kisses on her knuckles, hoping she'll wake up. It's been two days since the attack. Her body hadn't been strong enough then, due to her time in the Basement, but now it was even weaker.

Her body had been stitched up and the wounds had healed into more scars against her pale skin. She was covered in them. I had refused to leave while they operated on her and retrieved all of the bullets and saw the full extent of her past torture. If I hadn't been so worried about Max, I would have been consumed with rage.

I feel her hand gently squeeze mine, giving me hope. I get up from my chair and hover over her, pushing a few white strands from her face as her eyelids flutter open.

"Max?"

"Yeah," she croaks out in a hoarse voice, but it's the most beautiful thing I've heard. "How long have I been out?"

"Two days," I say, sitting on the edge of the bed as Max adjusts herself slowly into a sitting position.

"Is Ava okay? How's the pack? Did you get hurt?" she asks in a rush.

"Ava is perfectly fine, thanks to you," I pause, kissing the top of her head. "We lost a lot of pack members, but we are going to avenge them, and I only got a few minor wounds," I say, quietly.

"I knew this was going to happen. They're after me. And know I've lead them to an entire pack of new test subjects!" she growls, her bear leaking into her voice.

"Shh, it's okay, we'll figure it out," I say calmly, though on the inside I just want to rip those bastards to shreds, every last one of them.

"No it's not okay! A Luna is supposed to help the pack, not lead an entire fucking army to it, so that they can capture the pack!" Max hisses.

"Max, this isn't your fault. Get some rest. The pack still needs to recover, but don't worry, we will get them back for this I promise," I assure her.

"Okay, but as soon as I'm healed we are going to my parents pack and getting their help. We lost enough warriors that we are severely outnumbered and we need help, so that's what we are going to get, and maybe I can get my aunt to lend us a few warriors too," Max says, tapping her chin as she thinks.

"Okay, as soon as you're healed, we will go, but no sooner. You need to make sure you are healthy before we travel, got it?" I say sternly, but with a smile.

"Yeah I got it,' she sighs with a small smile.

I can't hold back anymore. Being gentle, I pull her towards my and cover her lips with my own, engaging in a slow kiss. I move from her mouth down to her jaw before going over to her neck, down to where I'm going to mark her. I pause and pull away looking up into Max's lust filled eyes.

"Can I mark you?"

"Of course," she smiles at me.

I waste no time before kissing my way down her neck. As soon as I reach the spot where her shoulder meets her neck, I sink my fangs. Max takes in a sharp breathe, gripping my shoulders, but then lets out a moan as I pull my teeth out, licking up the extra blood.

I fully pull away and cup her face in my hands, forcing her to stare directly into my eyes.

"You are mine, Max King!" I tell her with a smile.

"And you are mine, Kai Tavion!"
