I watch as Max eats her food and interacts with her family. They don't ask about what happened to her the past eleven years, and I can tell she is relieved.

The kids were eating in another room, and could be heard all throughout the house, well, Ava could be heard throughout the house.

"So Bo, what happened to your hair, it used to be pink right? That I can remember," max laughs, shoveling a bite of spaghetti into her mouth.

"Well ,the reason my hair was pink was because it was the only way I could get color into my life, but after I was with Tommy for about a year, I realized that I didn't need the extra color. I had Tommy," she says, leaning up and kissing her husband's cheek, making him blush.

I found it hilarious that he still blushed, even as a fully-grown male. I've seen him do it a lot throughout dinner when his mate said something about the two of them. He was so in love with her, and she didn't even know how much. Throughout the whole meal, he has been sneaking admiring glances at her as she talked.

I wanted to be like that with Max, even though I knew I was already whipped. I love her, but I need to find a way to tell her. Maybe I'll do it later tonight. I know she loves me, otherwise she wouldn't have let me mark her, but I still wanted to tell her.

"That's so cute," Max gushes, making Tommy blush even more.

"So, Max, where have you been the last eleven years. We searched everywhere for you. We asked other packs to help look for you, but we couldn't find you. When you were taken we got a note saying that humans took you, someone told them about us," Minnie says, quietly, watching Max's reaction.

Her face pales, and I reach over under the table and squeeze her knee tightly, reassuring her and letting her know that I was there with her. She swallows a lump in her throat and I'm about to stick up for her and tell them that she wasn't ready, but she speaks anyway.

She tells them the whole story, making Minnie cry all over again, and Jay, Tommy, and I angry. I know I've heard the story before, but it still makes me want to rip every human, that had even looked at her, to shreds.

"But I'm okay now. I found Kai and he has helped me. At first, I was still terrified of everything. I even attacked a few people when I first realized I was in his house," Max chuckles, trying to lighten the mood, and it works.

Everyone fell back into easy conversation, making me smile over at Max. She had really come a long way from the scared girl I found two weeks ago.

As soon as dinner was over, Max grabbed my hand and tugged me out to the back porch of the house. She smiled at me, making my heart skip a beat. The moonlight was reflecting off her hair, making her look even more beautiful.

"I used to sneak out here when I couldn't sleep and look up at the stars," she smiled to herself, remembering her old life.

I grinned and wrapped my arms around her waist, placing my head on her shoulder as I placed a gentle kiss to her make, making her shiver. I smile against her skin, knowing I have that effect on her.

I need to tell her now! My brain and heart are literally yelling at me to tell her. I take a deep breath, tightening my grip around my waist, as if keeping her from bolting.

"Max?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you," I breathe.

I feel her tense in my arms, and I internally panic. She isn't ready! Why did I do that? She turns around in my arms and grips my face between her hands and looks straight into my eyes.

"I love you too, Kai," she says before crashing her lips into mine.

I groan, pulling her closer towards me. I smile against her lips as I run my hands along her sides, her hands gripping my hair. After a few minutes of intense passionate kissing, she pulls away.

"We should take this somewhere else," she smiles, almost shyly, making me smile.

"Hell yeah we should," I agree with a huge grin, tugging her inside her house after me.
