Chapter 17 - All night long..

The only sound in the room now was the beep of the heart machine, slowly steady beeps. Jessica sighed and looked at Taemin.

"Please Taemin I love you.." She held back the tears. She squeezed his hand tighter "Taemin please don't leave me." At that moment the slow beeps of the heart machine got slower. Jessica's head shot up. "No Taemin no!" she screamed. Some doctors ran in hearing the shouting and looked at Taemin, they were losing him. Soon they got to work and were pressing this and that. All Jessica could do was watch from afar, this was it she couldn't hold it in any longer, she started to cry.

No, she thought, I have to stay strong for Taemin.

She looked up and wiped the tears that fell down her face. She put on a smile and walked a bit closer.  She watched the doctors work away at the young boy. She had no idea what they were doing but she hoped it was helping him. She watched the heart rate.

She sighed but stayed strong watching the doctors fiddle with wires and connecting them here and there. She moved closer, out of the way, but closer to Taemin, she teared up again but fought off the tears. "Taemin.." She whispered and grabbed his hand. Suddenly the heart rate got faster until it was finally at a normal-ish rate.

"Taemin?" Jessica happily chanted, she squeezed his hands and his fingers twitched ever so lightly, but they did all the same. Jessica squealed with joy, the doctors stood back and smiled. he was going to be okay! 

"He should be fine now. Maybe he'll be up later..." The doctor smiled at Jessica. Jessica jumped up and down.

"You mean it?" She looked at Taemin "You hear that Taem, your going to be okay!" She kept hold of his hand and sat next to the bed. The doctors soon left them alone again. "I'm so happy.. I can't wait to see you Taemin.." Jessica cuddled into his arm "Please wake up soon"

Night soon fell and Taemin still hadn't awoken, Jessica started to feel worried again.

What if it were to happen again? she wondered.

She sat up and blinked a few times, she was tired. She looked at Taemin he seemed to be breathing fine. She felt tired so she led back, still hand in hand with Taemin when suddenly 'Gee' played.

'Gee gee gee gee baby baby baby!'

"Yeobsayo?" Jessica's voice was low, she was curious who would call at this time. She was so tired she hadn't even checked the caller ID.

"Yah? Is Taemin okay?" Key's voice screeched down the phone. Jessica had to hold the phone away so her eardrums wouldn't explode.

"Yah do you know how late it is?" Jessica whined "I'm tired and all you can do is shout at me?" A sigh was heard from the other side of the phone.

"Look I'm sorry but I was just so worried about Taemin... and there was also something I had to say..." Kibum softened his tone.

"What is it?" Jessica asked suddenly eager to know.

"I'm going to forgive you for what you did.. I mean, you offered to stay with him so you are obviously sorry!" Key replied

"Well thanks, but I wanted to stay with Taemin, I realised that I really did love him.." Jessica sighed.

"Good, well now that's sorted.. How is Taemin.." Key asked. Unsure whether to tell about the 'incident' Jessica replied quietly.

"He is fine.. The doctor's said he should be up soon.. I'm going to wait for him.." 

"Good, please text me when he's awake?" Kibum pleaded

"I will, now goodnight.." Jessica yawned

"Goodnight~" Kibum replied before hanging up. Jessica placed her phone in her pocket and looked at Taemin one last time before closing her eyes for the night. The soft beeps of Taemin's heart were actually quite soothing.
