Kee flew towards the small patrol of league members, her hair and cloak billowing out behind he she as she landed delicately. Her piercing eyes found those of her father, and he instantly moved to stand next to her, giving her a small hug of greeting which she returned gladly.

" Now we are all here, we must deal with a patrol of the Bandit's followers, we have reports that they may be tracking civillians looking for our shelter," Superman announced, his clear voice reaching them all.

" The size of the patrol?" Her father asked, a calculating look in his eyes.

" Apparently it is only a small patrol, but Rising Storm and Martian Manhunter will obtain recon information before we move in," Superman answered, sending Kee a small smile.

Kee nodded to him, accepting her position and pulling up the hood of her cloak. This was what she was often chosen for, recon before action, apparently she was able to sneak around like nobody's business.

" Move out," Batman ordered deeply.

Kee and Martian Manhunter took to the air, the familiar rush of power she received made her shiver. Her power had grown so much that she needed to restrain the winds as they supported her through flight.

As they flew over the landscape of rocks and scraggly bushes she couldn't help but remember when her dad had taken her camping here so many years ago. That was why they took refuge on the F.I.S.T now, because no where else could hold them, nowhere else could protect them.

" Come on hon, we've gotta pick up Carol," Her dad called out.

She picked up her hiking pack and the two of them Zeta Beamed down to Hal's car. It was time for their first family camping trip, being outside helped Kee forget. So she was undoubtedly excited about a week in nature.

She couldn't go to school like normal kids, not after what Vandal had done to her face. There was no way she could, and so she had plenty of time between homeschooling, to go camping with her dad.

" Hey Hal! Kee, you ready for our big trip?!" Carol cried as she raced to the car.

Kee leapt out of the car and hugged the woman close. Carol laughed happily and held her as well. Both squealed when Hal picked them both up in a hug.

'We are approaching the site,' Martian Manhunter intoned, creating a mind link between the two.

Mind links reminded Kee so much of Miss Martian, who'd gone off to live with Lagoon Boy in Atlantis. They'd shared a tearful goodbye, but it was a betrayal, and Kee did not accept betrayal.

' I will scout around the perimeter, you scout closer to the actual patrol ' Kee decided.

J'onn flew off, veering off to scout closer to the patrol. And Kee touched down behind a tall rock, heart pounding with adrenaline. She peered around the rock, her hood hiding her features as she observed them.

There was about ten members in the patrol, in a circular formation with their guns facing outwards, watching from every direction. They were wearing their uniforms, dark green  tunics with brown belts, black pants and boots. All carried their large black guns, and their colored says which told their rank in the army gleamed proudly across their chests.

It sickened her.

They didn't speak, they didn't have to, they'd trained to fight together so well that no words were needed to carry out orders. Her fierce eyes managed to only just pick out J'onn's form floating above the patrol, and she knew only she could pick him out. Vandal's experiments had increased her eyesight ten fold.

' No sign of the civilians they're meant to be tailing ' Kee informed, slight suspicion in her tone.

' We must call in the rest of the patrol, when they arrive we will move,' J'onn decided, taking the lead now.

Kee hated waiting, it was a sore point for her, but now she was content to wait for her dad. It only took a few minutes for him to come, leading Superman, Batman, and Black Canary behind him.

The heroes attacked, the villain patrol let out shouts of warning, but Kee was fired up now.

Literally.

She flew out of hiding, fireballs forming around her hands in their black gloves. She hurled fire at them, making sure to keep the fire on the side of the battle J'onn was not fighting in.

The enemy soldiers screamed as they were set alight, and two of them ran at her, firing the guns all the while. Kee flicked her hand in an almost bored motion, and the wind pushed the bullets out of the way, and sent them harmlessly to the side. She began to advanced, hands raised as the ground beneath their feet trembled and shook, making keeping their footing difficult.

" You shall not win child!" The lead soldier barked, as he and his partner tried to keep their footing.

" I already have!" Kee hissed in her deep, grating voice.

The ground erupted under them, rocks slamming in to their bodies and forming a rock encasing, only letting their heads show. They were stuck to the ground now, unable to move.

The battle was over almost as soon as it had started, it was almost pathetically easy in fact. The league incapacitated the patrol with minimal effort, for this was a good day.

But there were bad days.

Days when the enemy patrols were fifty men strong and all carrying specialized weapons, Kryptonite spears, Flame throwers, Concussion guns, that one was the one Kee hated.

The concussion gun had a bad habit of hitting her, and it rendered her incapacitated for a while. She loathed that gun, and made sure she stayed as far away from that one as possible. Head injuries were her weakness.

Oh, and the gun she loathed the most was the magnetic wand, it was meant to suck the metal weapons Batman often used towards it, but on its first trial it got more than that. It pulled her toward sit, as her metal leg was attracted to the force.

Her dad had had to rescue her by stealing the wand himself and throwing it as far away as possible. Her dad was good at rescuing her.

Now the battle was over, and Kee couldn't help but send her fiercest glare at the men she'd trapped. They tried to shiver but found it was impossible. Kee flew away beside her father, feeling rather good about her skills at that pint.

" You did an amazing job baby girl," Her dad whispered to her.

" Thank you dad, I love you," Kee murmured back, grabbing his offered hand as they flew in sync.

They returned when the sun was setting, not expecting anything else to happen now. They were wrong. The civilians on watch ran towards them the second they returned.

" We've got newbies! Just come in from the south of Bludhaven," he reported breathlessly, excitement in his eyes.

After all, not many people had joined them since they settled here, not many people could survive on their own. They followed him to where the new peel were being greeted warmly by the civilians of F.I.S.T, and when Kee observed them, she noticed that they were mostly women and children.

" Welcome to F.I.S.T," Black Canary welcomed, smiling warmly.

" Oh thank you, we've been traveling for weeks now trying to find you. The only reason we didn't perish was because Karlos was here to help us," A young woman with a toddler at his hip gushed, looking worn out.

" It was my honor," A deep voice thanked the woman who'd spoken.

Kee froze, going absolutely rigid. She knew that voice anywhere, it was one she would never forget, one she could hear in her darkest nightmares. It made her ball her fists, her eye narrowing in pure fury.

" Kaldur A'hm," Kee hissed as her speaking ability lingered.
