Kaldur smirked in amusement as Kee unconsciously shuffled closer to his warmth while he swum them home. If she had been aware, she probably would be punching him to get him away. He couldn't deny that he was the cause of her current emotional pain. He had done a terrible thing.

He wished it could go back to the way it was before he found out the identity of his father.

But it couldn't.

And since it was necessary for him to play evil while they brought down the light, he had had to abandon her and pretend to be about to kill her father. He'd underestimated the power of the gun he had been given for the battle. He had almost truly killed Hal Jordan, cementing the growing disgust that Kee had for him.

And after years of not seeing her at all, staying away from league and villain alike, safe away from the Green Bandit's wrath, he had scarcely recognised her. There she was, absolutely beautiful despite the terrible scars marring her face and body. He definitely approved of her new suit and cloak, it befitted her perfectly.

Yet again if she ever heard him say that she'd probably punch him.

He envisioned himself being very sore in the future if he kept trying to hang out with her again.

Finally! He could see the shore and the mountain that the F.I.S.T residents were hiding out in. Soon he could stand up, and he picked Kee up like a damsel in distress, noting how easy she was to carry with only one leg and her smaller stature. Hopefully the swim didn't rust out the prosthetic.

" Get away from her!" A sudden voice cried furiously.

Kaldur only had a moment to look to the side before he was tackled painfully to the ground, dropping Kee in the process. His gaze was filled with the very angry face of Hal Jordan, whow as glaring at him mercilessly.

" What were you doing?!" Hal hissed furiously.

Kaldur cleared his throat, dislodging some of the sand he'd picked up from his landing.

" I was helping your daughter home," Kaldur grunted with a small wince.

" Why did she need helping in the first place?! Did you attack her?" Hal interrogated, casting a slight glance at the motionless Kee.

" No, she exhausted herself protecting F.I.S.T from a rogue patrol, I was helping her back since she fell asleep!" Kaldur defended, hurt by the thought that he'd ever hurt Kee purposely.

" Do not be so hasty to ever touch my daughter again! Or you may find yourself adrift in space!" Hal hissed furiously, before quickly collecting his daughter and taking off towards the base.

Kaldur grimaced, pushing himself off the sandy ground and dusting off his uniform. He never knew Hal to be so protective, maybe this battle with the Green Bandit was making him extra protective.

The White House was a very comfortable fortress.

Especially now that she had modified it to suit her needs.

Her thousands of soldiers were in the vicinity, doing whatever they felt like doing while off duty, gambling was the current rave. She wouldn't stoop to their level, and continued her walk to the Oval office, now her throne room. Her long green and black robes trailed behind her, her dark grown hair with its green streaks tickled her neck as it swished with her steps.

The Green Bandit hadn't been her first name choice.

She'd gotten it from a book she had read. A book she had read to her baby many, many years ago. It had been a strange place for inspiration, but she'd grown to enjoy her new title. Controlling the light had been the first stage of her takeover, taking down the Watchtower had been the second.

She grinned with feral pride as she envisioned her next step. It was time to send a message to the occupants of that horrid group, F.I.S.T. and oh it would be so fun to watch them try and stop her next move. She had America in her hands, now it was time for her next target.

She was going home. Back to the Never Never.
