I was glad I had an excuse to leave the house because Mama Angela had everyone working like slaves her reasoning behind having all of clean Uncle Khalil's house from top to bottom and having use move shyt around being that with all these kids running around there was no excuse for any of the adults to raise a finger, except to cook. So while all my cousins were busy as fuck I was on my way to my first Domestic Violence Counseling session and being the merciful big brother that I was..... I allowed Cortez to come with me, I would've felt bad for leaving him there especially since he made the mistake of talking back to Mama Angela; then again he probably needs someone to put his ass in line and she was the best person for the job. We got to the address that Quamir had sent me and I started to feel a little nervous, I really didn't feel like sharing everything I've been through with Rondell yet but I also knew I sorta needed to be here since there a lot of things I needed to work through and figure out. We got out and walked inside and the closer we got to the door the more nervous I became until Cortez looked at me and nodded, that small gesture was enough to let me know my little brother had my back.

"Damn I didn't think you'd show up." Quamir said walking over to me and once again I was taken aback by how sexy he was, all he was wearing was a simple white button up and some tan slacks and Quamir was easily the sexiest dude in a ten mile radius, I must've been staring a little too hard because Cortez elbowed me in the side bring me back to reality. "You can take a seat anywhere you'd like there's actually a lot of new people today so the most you'll have to do is introduce yourself." Quamir said staring in my eyes and once again I was stuck on how sexy he was.

"Aight let's go sit down Kylan....." Cortez said steering me to our seats. "Need I remind you that you're not here the fuckin Love Connection." He said as we sat down, I decided to ignore him because he had a point..... but that wasn't going to stop me from staring at Quamir. After everyone finished their introductions Quamir went to the front of the room and started unbuttoning his shirt revealing the long scar that started at his neck and went beyond the tank top he was wearing.

"Since we have so many new people here, I think it's only fair to tell y'all my story...... my name is Quamir Peoples. When I was in college, I was an All-American Running Back on my why to the NFL..... during my freshman year I met this woman who stole my heart and for a while things were great. When I elected to stay in college and get my degree things between me and that woman changed.... she felt I wasn't making the best decision for her and my daughters future........ She started to become violent, it started with slapping me whenever I came home late from practice, then it turned to punching....." Quamir said.

"Why didn't you leave or call the police on that bitch? Hell at least yoke her ass up one good time." Cortez asked and I swear I wanted vanish into my seat but Quamir smirked.

"I thought about doing all those things, but I was raised never to put my hands on a woman and I had my daughter to think about. Nicole..... the woman, was good at making me believe she controlled my career and that with one call and a few tears she could ruin my entire life. One night we got into a big ass argument and I told her I was leaving..... and I did. The next morning I got arrested in front of my entire team because she had told the police I had attacked her..... when I got out, I went over there to collect my things and she showed up." Quamir's eyes went dark and it was almost as if he was in that moment again. "I told her once I proved she was a liar I was taking my daughter and never seeing her again....... I walked up to our room and as I was packing she came at me with a knife...... she stabbed me seven times and tried to slit my throat..... when I tried to push her off the knife cut from my neck down through my ribs puncturing a lung. I would've died had it not been for my best friend who was waiting in the car, when he came in to check on my he found the woman sitting on the couch laughing while I laid upstairs bleeding out..... she went to jail and I recovered.... my career was over but I found something so much better and that was helping any and everyone who had ever been in my position." Quamir said. "That's my story...... if anyone would like to share the floor it open."
