~4 Days Before~
Lana's POV~
"AUSTIN STOP!"
I really did try to not make a scene. Thankfully, everyone around us is already familiar with Austin's attitude towards Chad. How is it, that, no matter how many times I tell him that Chad and I are just friends. He doesn't believe me.
"He had his arm around you. You know how I hate that shit, especially when he does it!" He growled ferociously. I think he pressed even harder on Chad's throat.I swear it felt like everything spinning between freshman crowding around, teachers heading our way and Chad turning purple.
"Austin please..." I pleaded. As I tried to pull his forearm off of Chad's throat. I could see in Chad's eyes that he was losing oxygen in his lungs, quickly. I've had enough, I thought he would've let go by now. He usually does. I hurriedly yanked Austin's arm far away from Chad's esophagus.
"God sakes, Austin! We just got back, it hasn't even been first period yet and already you want to get suspended. For God knows how long, this time."
Austin eyes went from angry to guilty. I know the guilt wasn't towards Chad, who was trying to get the proper air flow back into his lungs. The guilt was towards me for shouting at him. At an instant, I feel the guilt because I know he gets it from his father every time he goes home. Thankfully, the crowd he had created has dispersed and the teachers have retreated. Most likely discussing strategies on how to give us more homework or try to slip us college based work without getting caught and asking the other teachers what they think.
"I'm sorry" He whispered. Even though we've been dating for almost 2 years. He will never admit defeat infront of anybody. He will only admit it behind closed doors. I turn to Chad to make sure he's alright. Externally he looks fine but internally I bet he's still struggling to breathe. I start to reach for Chad's shoulder but a strong inked hand stops it. Austin.
"Austin would you just-" I say annoyingly. I shrug his hand off of my forearm and continue to reach for Chad.
"Are you okay?"
"Good, I guess. At least my windpipe isn't crushed." He responds. "You would think I would've learned my lesson by now by not touching you infront of him."
*RING*
The bells sounds, signaling us to go to homeroom to get our second semester schedules. Since my last name is Avery and Austin's is Robertson, he's disappointed that we don't have the same homeroom. I explained to him, for probably the thousandth time, that it wasn't going to happen because I'm a junior and he's a senior.
"I have to go." I whisper to Austin, who snaked his arms around my waist.
"I'll walk you."
"No, I don't want you to be late."
"Baby, it's homeroom not first period, if I'm late they'll probably think I couldn't find my way."
"But you've been at this school for 4 years. You're bound to know your way around this place."
"True. I'm still walking you though." He ended the conversation and let me lead him to my homeroom. I lead him outside to the main stairs. Once at the top, we took a right to upstairs Building 2. All the while him holding my hand. Thank God, we didn't run into a freshman who still doesn't know their way around the school.
"Ok, I think it's time for you to go now." I turned around to face him, to send him off.
"No, I want everyone to know that you're not to be messed with..." He said as he grabbed the loose front part of my light blue jean jacket. He looked angry but not too angry. He looked like a cross-match between sexy and puppy dog cute.
"Honey, we've been dating since the middle of my sophomore year. The way you were possessive then and now, I think everyone knows what you are to me." I smiled.
He looked defeated and apprehensive but soon enough he let go of my hand, kissed me and turned and walked away. No matter how many times he kisses me I just can't get enough. While he was walking away, I couldn't help but stare at his ass. As if he had eyes at the back of his head. Austin turned halfway and shouted "Stop looking at my ass. You're such a pervert!"
"Nice imitation, sweet heart!"
"I learned from the best!" He shouted back. While curtsying to me. He looked around quickly making sure no one saw that.
I snorted and walked to my homeroom. I bumped into a few people trying to look for the correct room number. I'm 5'2 it's a curse. Finally, after almost face planting on the floor I found the room. As soon as I walk in, the teacher told me to look to my right find my schedule and leave. I didn't even think twice. I took me schedule and left without looking back, she scared me. I made my way back to my locker in one piece and found all my friends waiting for me. I guess my locker is the locker this year. Last year it was Allison's.
"Hey baby cakes what does yours say?" Chris said as he put his arm around me. Chris doesn't have to worry about Austin's wrath. Chris is gay and has a boyfriend.
"I don't know I didn't really have a chance to look at it." I looked down at my schedule just as the bell rang to tell us to get our late asses to first period.
