Lana's POV~
"Hey" I said as I got into Austin's car. He was looking down on his phone.
"Hi baby," He replied as he kissed me. He slowly pulled out of his parking spot but then sped off of school property.
"I was wondering why you want to go to San Francisco when we just got back from winter break?" I asked him turning towards him in my seat. He looked at me briefly before answering.
"I don't know. It's just we haven't been there in awhile."
"Assuming we're going to be there the whole weekend, where are we going to stay?"
"I was thinking a Motel 6. It's stupid to spend all that money on a hotel for, not even, two days. Plus, I figured you wouldn't want to do it in the car. So that way in the motel, you'll have more room." He said. He wiggled his eyebrows during the last part of his explanation. To say I was shocked was an understatement.
"A Motel 6!" I hollered, even though he was right next me. He flinched but smiled. Austin is a every sexual person and is not afraid or embarrass to take about it. I like sex, especially with him. Yet, I'm still not comfortable with it. It's just a really intimate subject and should be discussed behind closed doors not in the open. But I wasn't really freaking out about that.
"Do you know how many scary stories I've seen on the news about Motel 6's. About, people dropping dead, being shot at. Need I go on..."
"Baby, I'm right next to you in a confined space and the radio isn't even on. So I was wondering, why are you yelling at me?" He asked with a taunting smile on his face.
"I'm trying to get my point across." I said in a non yelling voice. He seemed pretty please that I wasn't yelling anymore. Let's face it, he only likes me yelling at him when I'm underneath him. I shook those perverted thoughts out of my mind.
By then we were almost at my house. Austin and I don't live very far from each other. Maybe, just a couple blocks or so. I looked out the window watching the same familiar houses go by. When we pass the Porters' home, I realized they have a new mailbox. Th old one was like a Medieval type thingy. Now, it's a flowery, spring theme. What a vast change...
I grasped Austin's hand that was placed on my thigh. We finally pulled up on my house. Instead, of pulling up by the curb as usual, Austin drove up the driveway and turned the car off. Preparing, to get out the car and make his way to the front door I grabbed ahold of his arm.
"What are you doing?"
"Getting out of the car..." He had a smirk on his face. He was looking at me like I should've known what he was talking about. I do...
"Why?" I know what he was doing but I wanted him to say it verbally. He's not good with saying things. I was excited that he wanted to spend the night with me. I just needed him to tell why.
His mouth was moving but no words were coming out. I looked at him, giving him courage. He turns and closes the car door. He turns back around to face me and takes hold of my hands.
"I know what you're doing. I know why I want to stay over you're house. I know that you're just trying to help but I don't have to suffer because he can't handle his." He said. Towards the end, his voice got menacing. I was playing with his moms wedding band on his pinky finger. Even though his mom passed away when he was 13. I think it's absolutely adorable that he wears it in memory of his mom. I started playing with it, twisting it around his finger. Our intentions were averted by the ring.
"I bet you still miss her like crazy." I said with full remorse in my voice.
"There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. I still want know what specifically happened to her. Not some rare heart cancer bullshit." He seemed drained talking about her. I feel guilty for bringing her up. But, I know he misses her unconditionally.
"Okay, let's go" I said as I let go of his hand and got out of the car. We made our way up the path and I opened the door.
