Cole's POV
I'm happy to have found out that I have a remaining family member. I couldn't have asked for a better sister. Scarlet is always hanging around me, trying to get to know me. She makes jokes and helps me with training and stuff.

This war thing though, it has me on the edge. I can tell Scarlet is on edge because of it too. You know, I'm scared in a way, I don't want to lose my sister or Isabella. Scarlet and I still have so much to learn about each other. There is little time for us to actual just talk.

"It's time to train, cupcake," Scarlet says pulling me out of my daze. She ruffles up my hair causing me to glare and she laughs.

Following Scarlet outside I see Isaiah and other vampires, Ryder and his pack, and Alex and his pack. They have the two packs and the vampires training together. All in all everyone looks pretty good. Everyone has been going through rigorous training, in the beginning some would faint from the amount of work, now no has fainted.

"Scarlet," I yell out when I notice the shadow. She jumps back and Isabella shoots a light at the shadow from her hand while chanting something. The thing wasn't human, it had no face it was literally a walking shadow. There appeared to be like a misty black fog surrounding it.

"What the hell was that," Scarlet yells toward Isabella. Isabella's eyes are wide as she stares at the black spot where the monster once stood.

"They call them 'the damned' they're neither alive nor dead, angel nor demon. They can be summoned but at a price will they work for you. They're very tedious creatures and very dangerous. They take their victims into a type of mind game, they'll place their hands on your head and force you into your darkest imagination. This was just a warning," Isabella says shakily.

Everyone training have stopped and some have scared looks on their faces. I probably do too. I've never heard of the damned before and I really don't want to see them ever again.

"How do we kill them," Scarlet asks stiffly. Her eyes every so often glance at me and I try to give her a small smile, I don't want to worry her.

"They can be killed using the dark art or the light art since they are neither angel nor demon. We will have to make holy traps or hell traps if you will. We can make holy bombs using holy water. We can use tainted blood from a demon also," Isabella sighs.

"Can I leave that up to you then," Scarlet asks.

"I'm on it right now," Isabella replies and walks away.

"Everyone, be on high alert when training," Scarlet tells everyone. Whispers and unsure faces pass through the crowd and a grim look settles into Scarlet's face.

"This isn't looking good, we've tried to get others to join in the battle but they don't want to join into a battle that isn't there's. How can they not understand that this will affect them too if this battle isn't won? I just don't get it," Scarlet sighs heavily as she rubs her temple.

"Why don't you rest today, you've been working even on rest days, it must be getting tiring," I say. She gives me a small tired smile.

"Yeah, I'll take a small nap on the couch," she says tiredly. She's been working so hard this entire time yet no one notices just how much work she puts in. Her façade is falling yet no one says a thing about how she really is. Is it because everyone else is too self centered to notice or am I not noticing how they watch her?

I watch as she retreats to the shelter of the house. Once she makes it in I go back to train with the others. I want to make my sister proud because she has already made me proud, I just want to follow her example.

"She'll be fine, don't worry too much," Alex says as he pats me on the back. The smile he wears is reassuring in a way.

"Okay, let's get training," I say, just trying to keep positive.

"Everyone, take five laps around the usual area," Ryder says with authority. Everyone starts running and I join the group. Everyone is so focused right now.

Taking in a breath I push myself, I need this. I want to be able to help Scarlet as much as I can in this battle.

Here is chapter 17, like I promised! I decided to do it in Cole's POV so you can get an idea of what he feels and how he sees everything that is going on. I will be posting the next chapter in two maybe three days, so either on Monday or Tuesday, I promise.
