Scarlet's POV
Gazing at the fog curtained moon, a warm breeze blows. It's one in the morning and I still can't seem to fall asleep. It's been like this for awhile now. Fall asleep, have a nightmare, wake up. Each nightmare I have shows one person I care about dying in front of me, while I stay stuck to one spot, staring. I feel completely and utterly useless.

With a sudden dry throat I push off of the porch railing, back into my room. Making my way through the dark room I make sure to be quiet. No needs to wake up right now just because I am.

Successfully making it to the kitchen my old self rips through as I do a happy dance. Being in this situation seems to have matured me. I no longer go out and party endlessly like I once have. I no longer go out and street fight or street race. I'm now just a girl fighting a battle that waged since she was a child.

Grabbing a bottle od water I sip on it slowly all the way to my room. The stairs make small creaks under my weight, nothing extremely loud. As I make it to my room a sudden chill ripples through me. Something just seems off. Trying to shake it off as stress I walk back to my little porch. Something really doesn't seem right. Looking down at my water bottle I notice a sticker labeled, holy water.

That's what was off, right?

No. Something is still very off. A shadow in the corner of my eye tells me my senses should not be doubted. I try my best to not show I know of the intruders presence. Moving my fingers the water lifts out of the water bottle. The moon light dance's on the water, glimmering. Taking the shape of a scythe I swing it back, into the intruder.

An un-human gurgling sounds, it's loud pitched cries are ear piercing.  Its high pitched cries echo and I can hear people jumping up, and their hearts racing. For super natural creatures the cries this monster bellows is worse than what a human hears. Our hearing is 100 times better if not more.

Flipping the light switch on I see only a black charred floor, where the monster once stood. My bedroom door is thrown open and Alex rushes in first, worry etched on his face. If this was under different circumstances I would have laughed at how Alex had chosen a book as his open or that he is wearing pink fluffy socks.

"It has begun," Isabell murmurs softly as she clings to Alex. I didn't need Isabell to tell me. I already knew the war has begun when I set my eyes on the damned thing.

Isaiah and Ryder move everyone out of the room, probably to get ready. Cole can't seem to take his eyes off of the charred ground. Engulfing his tall built frame in a hug, he squeezes me back, as if I too will disappear, leaving only a charred ground as proof of me standing here.

"I'm sorry Cole, just know that I love you so very much. We will always be siblings even if I were to die." Cole pulls back in a confused way. "Please don't hate me for doing this because I'm doing it for you, I love you." Waving my hand across his eye a soft blue glows. Coles body crumples to the ground, as I struggle to get a hold on him.

Alex looks at me sadly and Isabell looks kind of angry. I'm doing this for him though. I want Cole to have a good life. I didn't want too drag him into this with me, he is my baby brother.

"Lock him in the last room," I refer to a room I prepared for this moment. Cole will be fully protected. He has food, water, guards, and a bathroom. The room is protected by the holy cross and is fire proof. I will do whatever it takes to ensure he is safe.

Kissing Cole on the forehead lightly I let the guard carry him away from me. The sadness that lingers is obliterated by a loud bang from the front of the house. Shouting can be heard and I quickly slip on clothes. Alex keeps glancing at Isabell worriedly.

"You're mates aren't you," my question is met by silence. Alex gives a small nod but the happiness in his eyes shine. I'm kind of jealous. "Protect her." Walking out of the air constricting room I hurdle down the stairs.

Upon seeing a shadow monster I push myself of the step and onto it. It's scream fills my ears but I don't flinch. I don't why but I feel nothing. Slashing enemy after enemy I make eye contact with someone very familiar. Jake seems frozen as he takes in everything and I can't help but feel bad. A tear rolls down his cheek and sorrow fills his face. His body crumples to the ground and I sigh deeply.

"Get up," I demand roughly. "Lock yourself in a cell in the basement, you should be safe there. No one will hurt you." Jake looks up, shocked to see me.

"I don't know what happened to him. He's not the same. His eyes, they're so... so dark. He's going to kill me," Jake's sanity seems to be long gone at this moment.

Grabbing his shoulder I teleport us to the cell. Jake just continues to mutter incoherent things and I wave my hands over his eyes, a familiar blue glow appearing. Placing his sleeping body on the cell bed I teleport back to the living room. The rooms is charred all over and will probably be dosed in holy water.

Screams of pain and agony echoes everywhere, almost in a taunting way. There is no way someone will ever just forget the sounds heard today.

Now out in the blood stained grass field I fight. The beauty of the rising sun goes unnoticed by our eyes as we all fight for our lives and our futures. Jakes pack fights but the hesitance is clear as day.

"If you do not want to fight drop your weapons, if you do not have a weapon then just listen. Put one hand up so we know you wish to not fight and run. Run away from here," I speak into the minds of the other wolves forced to fight. The sweat building up on my forehead is swiped away by my dirt covered hand, leaving a streak of mud.

"Your going to tire out your body Scarlet. Using your powers is to new to you and your using it a lot. You will die if you continue to use it," my wolf warns.

"So be it," I growl. Hands shoot up and moving bodies scatter away from the fight. However some wolves decide to fight to the end with their alpha. I must admit that they are loyal and I admire that.

But I will win this fight, no matter what it takes.
