Rowans POV

...I will always remember my home as if I was looking at a picture of it. All of the rolling hills me mum and Noah would run along when we had nothing better to do. The vast, immense ocean I would spend hours looking at in wonder, and the seemly endless acres of woods that I would spend all of my free time in. Noah didn't take as much of a liking to the woods as I did, she said that she felt that the woods where drowning her and she couldn't escape that feeling. She was more of a people person, whereas I couldn't stand people. I found them to be irritable and never really had anything of importance to say. Apparently I had been given the gift of antisocialism from my father. Who I had never met. My mother was more of a social butterfly and found it easy to connect with all kinds of people, which is most likely where my sister had got her talking talents from. whatever my sister asked for she got. people use to say that it was the way she looked at them and they would automatically want to give it to her . As Noah had gotten older she to found it harder to connect with people has she had been betrayed more that more by her trusting nature. It was this trusting nature that had almost cost her life...

I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts when I heard someone approaching me. after 10 years of being on the run I couldn't fully comprehend that I was more or less safe from the threats of beacon hills. whatever this crazy town threw at me I knew i could take them. All of them except Derek. Derek was my most powerful strength and my greatest weakness, and it had always been that way. I Turned of my heel and began to dart through the dense line of trees that I recognise as oak, the same as in Salem. But I knew this could never be my home, not anymore.

I heard the steps and the crunch of the leaves on the ground get closer and all I could do was face the person who had been following me. As I had expected it had been Derek and his lips where pursed tight together in anger. I couldn't see who he was more angry at, me or himself for letting me get this far.

"What are you trying to prove, Rowan? That you're more powerful than me" He said bluntly and sucked in a sharp breath only to release an overly dramatic sigh afterwards.

"I have never needed to prove the strength of my power to anyone, and I'm not going to start with you..." I argued, avoiding his eyes. instead I looked towards the ground for anything that I could use to distract me from his burning glare.

While looking at the ground I noticed something. A hex bag. Derek was still lecturing me about the dangers of beacon hills until he sensed the anxiety that was building up in my body, like a thick black fog. I began to creep closer to the seemingly harmless bag and felt Derek at my side.

"What is it?" he asked as soon as he noticed what I had been inspecting intensely for the minute.

"urgh, its a hex bag" I announce as if it was obvious" its used by witches to target a victim of their magic"

The look on Derek's face was a mixture of anger and surprise. "so whose it for and how do we stop it" he asked like it was that simple.

I was still avoiding his eyes but turned so that our bodies where facing. "you cant." I deadpanned. "either the witch gets killed or calls of the spell before it becomes too powerful for her to stop it".

"her?"

"Yes, der, a girl" I bent down to pick up the bag with my forefinger and thumb. "And by looking at the size of the bag, I would say we're dealing with a coven"

...

Once we had gotten back to Derek's Apartment I was placed in-between peter and a new face I had come to know as Isaac on the sofa. Isaac had dark sandy blonde hair and dark blue eyes to match. it had come apparent that these two were here to make sure I was not to leave, even though I could just teleport within 100 miles of this place or just freeze them with the blink of a eye, but once my magic had worn off, it wouldn't take them very long to find me.

"we found this" Derek said as he threw the fist sized bag on the coffee table in front of us and took a seat opposite.

"And what is that meant to be?" peter asked in a cocky tone, whereas Isaac went to touch it. my hand reached out and slapped his away with a swift movement.

" its a hex bag, you touch it, you die" I deadpanned.

"really, thanks for sugar-coating it" peter said

" what does it do?" Isaac asked

"I can be used for anything really, but everything comes with a negative, such as if you made it so you won the lottery someone would have nothing in their bank account the next morning." I said as I began to open the leather bound bag to reveal its contents out onto the table. It had some small bones, a silver coin, a small lock of golden blonde hair, a rosary and some herbs.

"so what was this one do and who was the target" Derek asked, after he noticed the familiar feeling of anxiety building up in rowan again.

"Depending on the animal the bone came from it could mean anything from death to prosperity, the silver coin means luck, the rosary is a form of blasphemy-so spite- and the herbs to seal the bag from being opened by anyone who is not a witch." I said as I continued to glare at the bag.

"and what about that hair" Derek asked, seemingly out of his forever lasting bad mood and into a more annoying curious one.

"well that's who the target is" I said looking up at peter, and still avoiding eye contact with Derek.

" And who would that be?" peter asked

"me." I answer.
