Sorry for another author's note, but since I've got 100+ readers now, I would love to hear from you! Comment, vote, just anything that isn't offensive etc. Also there is cringe ahead, you have been warned!

I stared at the entrance of this big cave, which had two totem poles at either side of it. "Greetings. Captain Ilima here." Ilima - a boy a few years older than me, with short, pink brown hair and a brown vest top over a white shirt - looked at the cave,"My trial begins... No, wait, I meant starts in Verdant Cave! Cavern, not Cave! Sorry, I've forgotten what I said when I was explaining it to that other kid."
Hau? Yeah, it's probably him, if it wasn't, he would've been here by now. There's also no other 11 year olds on this island; except from Lillie, of course, but she's not a trainer. Surely he would have said hi to me this morning, at least, but he was really excited for this challenge...
"Ahem! (Y/n), was it? Are you listening?" Shoot! I'm always lost in my thoughts... When I'm thinking about Ha-
"Yeah, sorry" I said, while looking out for him.
"Okay, um, note that the Pokemon living in Verdant Cavern are quite fierce, so I wouldn't venture in without potions and the like. Oh dear! I almost forgot! Among the others, there is one Pokemon stronger and more fearsome than the rest: the Totem Pokemon!"
Huh?
"It will be the greatest obstacle you will face here... Oh! And it begins now! The trial of Capital Ilima!"
I step into the cave...
I can hear footsteps following me, I think it might be Hau...
"W-wait! I forgot!" Again?
"What you have to do to complete the trial is to defeat the three Pokemon that lurk here in their dens! And to collect the Z-crystal from the pedestal, okay, I think I've said everything now... Good luck!"
Okay, (y/n), you can do this, I've just gotta be completely in sync with my Pokemon...

30 Minutes Later

So, Ilima said that there was 3 Pokemon in this cavern, but I've only found 2 so far. I guess I'll find the other if I just keep walking around, even though that's what I've been doing this past 10 minutes in this dark cave, this place gives me the creeps...
Oh, you've gotta be kidding me, footsteps? Has Ilima forgotten to tell me that he hid the last
Yungoos? "Yo! What are you doing here? Look at us and shake in fear!"
Team Skull? Can they steal Pokemon on a trial site?
"Yo, you think my rhymes are bad? Well at least my battle skills are rad!"
"Lucas stop! Your rhymes just need practice" said the other grunt, who had bright pink hair. Do all Skull grunts have bright hair? "What he's trying to say is that if you don't beat us in a battle, we'll steal your Pokemon like that kahuna's kid."
"Hau?" I gasped. That's why I didn't see him!
"Yeah, something like that." Oh, did I say that aloud? I need to get his Pokemon back, he'll be so upset, especially after the incident when we were training. "Ok, I'll do it... For him"
"Do you like him or something?" Why do I keep saying things aloud?
"If your so smitten, then try and get his Litten!"
"Wow, Lucas. That rhyme is actually good!"
"Hey! Are we doing this or not?" I just want this over and done with. I send out Poppy...

Later (I can't write battles)

I run out of that cavern with my new Z crystal, Normalium Z, and with a Pokeball in my hands. I need to find him.
I race around route 2, but I couldn't find him anywhere. To make matters worse, the sky was clouding up. Hau'oli cemetery: nowhere. Berry Fields: nothing to be found. Not even the Malasada store! He must be really upset because of this.
As I was running past some trees, I heard someone sobbing in the bushes.
"Uh, Hau?" I check; it's him.
"I went to Verdant Cavern, and I got your-"
"They took him!" He tried to wipe the tears from his face, but more kept streaming down.
"Hau, it's okay, I have your Litten."
"Really? Oh my goodness, I thought I lost you forever, I was so excited to get a Pokemon partner, and when I finally did, I just kept losing you. How can I ever be Kahuna if I didn't even finish my island challenge?"
"Hey, don't put yourself down like that, it's not because of you that Litten got stolen, Team skull wrongly took it! It doesn't matter that you didn't finish your challenge, you can just do it tomorrow."
"Thanks, (y/n)" He stopped crying, at least.
"I was so worried when I couldn't find you, where were you all this time?"
"I was just here actually, but at one point I really wanted to go to the malasada store but I was worried that they'd see me crying. Hey, did you know that they have a new flav- is it raining?" Oh my goodness, how long have I been sitting in here? The rain's coming down so fast; I was going to get him a malasada; oh well.
"Thank you, (y/n), for looking out for me."He put his hands on mine and smiled.
I muttered,"Oh, it's nothing, it's because...really like you, Hau"
"What? You sort of trailed off at the end, what did you say?" Oh gosh, did I say that aloud?
"Um, I..." I leaned in and kissed him, and time seemed to stop; it was just me, him, and the rain beside us.
I pulled away and saw him smile (and blush, a lot) and I said,
"I like you."
