[The light bulb inside the Janitor's closet is flickering and both girls kneel and Kairy looks at Christy]
Kairy: (breathing hard) I think is safe here.
Christy: (sobbing) My brother.
Kairy: (comforting) it was too late for him. Just take a deep breath and remember the good times you had with him.
[Christy expresses a small smile 🙂]
Christy: He was a good brother, always protected me.
[Kairy smiles 🙂]
Kairy: Yeah. Sounds like a great brother.
Christy: He was. He even gave me this cap.
[Christy points to her cap]
Kairy: Nice cap. Now...
[Kairy remembers something and gently touches her own face]
Kairy: My family?
[Christy looks confused at Kairy]
Christy: Your family? You mean Mr. S and Danielle?
Kairy: (softly) yes...
[Kairy slowly opens the door and takes a peek. She looks both ways, but sees nothing. She calls out their names softly]
Kairy: (softly) Mr.S! Danielle!
[There is no respond, so she re-enters the janitor's closet]
Kairy: I thought they were behind us. Weren't they?
Christy: Never saw them behind us.
Kairy: We need to find them.
Christy: (scared) I don't want to leave this place.
[Kairy looks at Christy and puts her hands on her shoulders]
Kairy: I'm scared, too. I'm not a brave person. I freeze when I see those things. I depend too much on my friends and I almost died twice today. But whether we like it or not, we need to continue and find our friends and family. We need to stick together, if we are going to survive here. You understand?
[Christy nods and both stand up and Kairy opens the door and as soon as she does Kairy sees Chloe walking down the hall slamming a wooden chair to the wall]
Kairy: Chloe?!!
