Something prodded Morningwish's shoulder as she laid in her cozy nest. She opened an eye and let the warm sunlight soak onto her long fur. There was another prod on the side and a light shake to her shoulder.

Someone was trying to wake her up. "Morningwish, it's time for you to get up," a voice of a she-cat's gently rang in her ears.

Annoyance bubbled in her sleepy mind as she batted the muzzle that was tickling her ears away. She faced her body to the opposite direction and tucked her face into her forepaws as an attempt to ignore the cat. "It's too early," she murmured softly.

However, the voice didn't give up. It continued to nag her. "Wake up sleepy head!" It said before jabbing their paws into her brown fur several times.

"Okay, okay, I'm awake," she slurred out, forcing her eyes open to see a pair of big blue eyes. "What do you want?"

It was Sandfrost, her good friend since kithood. The pale ginger warrior was sitting in front of her, with her tail wrapped around paws. She was posed elegantly as her eyes glistened amusingly. "Did you forget?"

Morningwish scrunched up her face in confusion. She tried to recollect anything that was important, but her mind was still drowsy and blank. "Forget what?" She asked.

Sandfrost shook her head with a smile on her face. "Oh Morningwish. What would you do without me?"

Morningwish rolled her eyes and glared at her friend. "Just tell me!"

"You're suppose to be on the dawn patrol," Sandfrost said, while getting up and walking to the entrance of the warrior's den. "You promised Sootmask."

I did? Oh, I did! It's dawn already? "Mouse-dung!" She silently swore as she got up so quickly that her next few steps were blindly taken. Her paws had landed on a soft and squishy object.

A loud painful yowl pierced the room. Sleepy warriors began to stir in their nest as they one by one slowly looked up with a confused expression.

A dark ginger she-cat was the first to speak. "What... what happened?" Her voice was a mixture of confusion, sleep and concern. However, her eyes were still closed and her head was slowly tilting itself to the ground.

The grey tom that had made the ruckus was looking at Morningwish with a scowl on his face. His teeth was gritted as if he was restraining himself to bite her. "Get off!" He hissed.

Morningwish looked down to see both her front paws on a grey tail. The heat of embarrassment hit her, she quickly stepped back. "Oh, I'm so sorry Smokechaser. I thought it was moss," she apologized.

The warrior hissed again. "You better be!" He meowed as he took his tail with his front paws and began to lick it.

"Oh stop being so sensitive," a white she-cat snapped. "It's only a tail."

"How will you like it if you lost a tail?" Smokechaser snapped back. "I bet you wouldn't like it, Snowdusk."

"Stepping on it will not make you lose a tail," she replied as her hackles began to rise. Challenge began to form in both of their eyes.

Morningwish sheepishly smiled. "I apologize ag..." before she could finish her sentence, Sandfrost came and bumped her flank.
