Kai's P.O.V:

When we got back to the Institute, Alice nearly tackled me with a bone-crushing hug. I squeaked out, "A-Alice, you don't have to hug me like that. We're all fine." Alice let go of me in an instant and scratched the back of her neck as she mumbled, "Well, I worry about you and Vivian a lot." I smiled as I ruffled her hair slightly, "Thanks, Alice." I watched as Clary and Simon went upstairs, both looking completely exhausted. I almost jumped straight in the air when Henry appeared right next to me, "By the Angel, Henry!" The taller Shadowhunter stifled a laugh as the rest of my parabatai made themselves known, "Sorry Kai, but I couldn't toss up a good opportunity to scare you." I punched Henry lightly on the shoulder, "I swear I will slice you in half with my seraph blade if you do that again." Henry rolled his eyes as he watched Jace, Alec, and Isabelle makes their way inside, "As if. I would just teleport away." Alec then walked up behind me and put an arm around my shoulders, "Henry." Henry nodded in acknowledgment before excusing himself, "Alec. I'll be going now, Kai." Before I could respond, Henry had teleported away to who-knows-where. Alec's eyes widened slightly when he saw Henry disappear before his own eyes, "How'd he do that?" I gulped before looking at my other parabatai for assistance, "Guys? Should we tell them?" Alice looked over at me, and then at all of our other parabatai, before nodding, "We've put it off long enough. Alec, tell your friends to meet us in the training room. There's something we need to tell you."

Once we had everyone, including Clary and Simon who came downstairs after about twenty minutes of well-deserved sleep, Alice took a deep breath, "Look, I know that we just solved one problem and we still have the threat of Valentine hanging over our heads, but there's something the seven of us need to tell you. Do you remember the incident that occurred five years ago at the Seattle Institute?" Alec nodded, "We were given little information about it though. All we know is that seven Shadowhunters were kidnapped by Valentine, and they haven't been heard from since." I bit my lip as I continued, "Those seven Shadowhunters were injected with various kinds of Downworlder blood." Vivian nodded, "The first two were the head and assistant head of the Institute, injected with the blood of vampires. They both gained the normal traits that vampires possess, like the fangs, enhanced senses, the lot. But, the first gained the ability to conjure ice from their fingertips and the second gained telepathy and telekinesis." Peter nodded as he took over once he saw that Vivian's eyes were clouding with tears, "Then Valentine took one of the male Shadowhunters and injected him with pure Seelie blood. He gained the basic traits that Seelies have, the pointy ears and the compulsiveness to not lie, but he also gained the ability to manipulate all of the nature around him." Hailey's hands shook as she began to tell her part of the story, "The fourth Shadowhunter he took was a small female. She was injected with the blood of Alpha werewolves and was given the ability to create and control natural disasters." I then took the liberty of explaining my part of this story, "The fifth was injected with the blood of several strong and wise Shadowhunters, in the hopes of creating one who would surpass all others. The resulting creation was a Shadowhunter with the capabilities to withstand having flames of Heavenly Fire boil inside him." Henry put his hand on my shoulder, relieving me from my part of the story and transitioned into his, "The sixth was injected with pure warlock and angel blood, in front of the seventh Shadowhunter, to create the perfect specimen. This resulted in a Shadowhunter that could use warlock magic and have the traits that only the highest ranking archangels possess." Sebastian stood up from where he was sitting as he told his last part of our tale, "Finally, the seventh was injected with pure demon blood, the idea to create a Shadowhunter that could anticipate the locations of demons. The resulting product was a Shadowhunter that could not only use the shadows to his advantage but could also communicate with and anticipate where demons are, as well as maintaining a demonic form himself."
