Allison Jade, Hailey McIntyre, Peter Valkyrie, Kai Seraph, Vivian Miranda, and Sebastian and Henry Collins were all Shadowhunters together. They all lived and worked at the same Institute, they were connected as Parabatai, yet they're all different...
The time was midnight, and I paced along the railing of the roof of a ten story building, staring down at the entrance to the New York Institute. I fiddled with the hilt of my seraph blade and I also scratched at the runes that reside on my wrists, habits that I had accumulated over the last five years whenever I was nervous. I heard a sound over to my right-hand side, causing my seraph blade to fly in that direction. "What the heck Alice?" I heard Sebastian growl as he caught my seraph blade in his hand. I sighed with relief, "Sorry Seb, I though you were a demon." Sebastian rolled his eyes as he stood closer to me and handed back my seraph blade, "It's fine. How long until the shadowhunters figure out we're nearby?" I shrugged as I sheathed my blade, "We should be far enough away that they won't notice us for quite a while. Is everyone else is their positions?" Sebastian nodded, and pulled out his steele, "Should I glamour everyone?" I paused for a moment, but ultimately shook my head, "No, I want to see how long it takes for them to realize they're surrounded." Sebastian nodded as he crouched like that of a gargoyle on the railing of the rooftop, "I overheard that three of them were heading over to Magnus's club to hunt down a few demons, that would be our best opportunity to intercept them tonight." I shrugged as I walked past him and started in the direction of Pandemonium, but hesitated once I saw Sebastian flinch, "What's wrong?" Sebastian popped his jaw and shook his head as if water was clogging his ears, but then returned to normal, "Henry senses that they are being followed." My head cocked to the side, "By what?" Sebastian gulped as he unsheathed his two shorter seraph blades, Malik and Uriel, and started to jog in the direction of Pandemonium, "Enhanced demons."

"But there shouldn't be any this close to an Institute!" I shot back as I kept up Sebastian's pace as we hopped from roof to roof. Sebastian yelled back, "Valentine's getting bolder by the day it seems." I nodded as I back flipped off the last bit of railing that would make me end up right at the roof of the building right behind Pandemonium. As Sebastian landed beside me, he muttered, "Or maybe he's doing this just to mess with us. By the Angel, when I get my hands on him-" I clasped my left hand over Sebastian's mouth when I saw a red headed girl burst out the back door of the club. Sebastian was about to bite my hand as retaliation, but then he saw why I had forcefully shut him up. By pure instinct, we both crouched to where we could see the redhead, but she couldn't see us, assuming if she was a Shadowhunter or not. She was obviously frightened for some reason and, unbeknownst to her, I could see a more clear reason to why she should be scared.
Two demons lurked in a nearby corner of the alleyway she was at, and I could have sworn that the mundane could see them too. In the blink of an eye, the two demons circled the poor mundane and she let out a scream of pure terror. I reached for my seraph blade, Adriel, but Sebastian placed his hand on my knee, and pointed to the roof of the club, where a blonde shadowhunter was jumping off, armed with a seraph blade of his own. He dismembered the demons with haste and precision, and started to seemingly question the mundane. Sebastian shook his head, "That mundane has to be a shadowhunter from their Institute. This is a trap!" I shook my head as the blonde shadowhunter started to explain something to her, the words I picked up being "The sight... Come with me... Institute..." I arched an eyebrow and stood up, "The mundane's a shadowhunter alright. The blonde guy's taking her to the Institute." Sebastian nodded once he soaked up this new information, but winced again a few moments later. "What's wrong?" I whispered as I crouched down to his level again. He growled with a slight smile on his face, his eye burning into a demonic black color, "Enhanced demons. They've locked onto the blonde shadowhunter and the girl."
