Missing (Lucaya/Filey/Rucas)

Chapter 21: Ledges

Maya's POV:
I get to the top of my old apartment building. I'm by the ledge. "Maya!" Riley screams. I don't look back. I only look forward. "Maya, please." Farkle begs. "I have to." I whisper. "No, you don't." Lucas says.
       "You all deserve a happy ending. I don't. I'm a broken, worthless, stupid orphan. You all don't need me." I say. Lucas grabs me. I kick and scream, but nothing works. "We need you." Farkle says. We all go to the Matthew's house. We walk in silence.
      When we get there, I go to the bathroom. I pull out my blade and make some cuts. I wash the blade and my arm before going back out. They are talking to Topanga and Corey. Topanga sees me and motions for me to come over. I know what they were talking about.
        I walk over to them. "Maya, let me see your arms and legs." Topanga says. I show my cuts. "There are more!" Riley exclaims. Crap! I forgot about my new ones. "What do you mean, Riley?" Corey asks. "There are more cuts than when she showed them to her dad." Farkle replies. I glare at him for saying 'dad'.
       "Everyone, please go into another room, except Topanga and Maya." Corey said. Everyone leaves. "Maya, why?" Topanga whispers. Her eyes are glassy. "I had to." I reply. "No Maya. You don't need to self-harm or commit suicide. You are perfect." Riley's dad says.
"I'm not perfect. I'm broken" I whisper. "What is causing this?" Corey asks. I have to tell them. I have no choice. "I'm getting notes and they are horrible. People still pick on me. And...no one loves me." I reply. Topanga' eyes get huge.
"Maya, we love you, Lucas loves you, and your friends all love you." Topanga says. I hear footsteps, but I don't care. "I just want to die." I cry. Auggie runs up to me and says, "You can't die! You're the best pirate!" We laugh.
"Auggie!" Riley yells. Riley's parents say I can go be with my friends. I walk with Riley to her room. They boys are sitting on the bay window. I start crying again. I curl into a ball on the floor. They come over try to calm me down. I keep saying I want to die.
I hear running footsteps toward Riley's room. I'm tired of having to wear a stupid mask all the time. "Maya!" I hear Corey yell. I keep crying. I finally get control over myself. I stand up and wipe the tears off my face. No one says anything.
I walk out of the room. I leave their apartment. I hear all of them following me. I get to the roof of their apartment building. "Maya," Lucas starts, but stops. I pull out my sketchbook and start sketching. No one expect me to do that. I sketch until it gets dark.
