He slid his glasses up on his forehead, confusion mixed with the perennial appearance of a genuinely extroverted guy.

"(y/n)? Is something wrong-"

"Yes. My feelings Jared. They are wrong, but..."
Your chest rose and fell, to stabilize your breathing. "They feel so right."

He casually looked around the parking lot, before landing his soft eyes back on you.

"(y/n)...-"

"No." You say sternly shutting your eyes, hoping it wasn't too loud. "You feel something too. Don't make me look crazy Jared, stop trying to fight it."

He sighed. "Just... just come sit down so we can talk about this."

You felt hope or barf stir up in your stomach. This was a whole new side of you that you didn't know existed. So much emotions were built up inside of you like a shaken bottle of soda.

You weren't looking for an answer from Jared, but it still scared you for not knowing how you would react if he didn't act in your favour.

You believed it was because you've never been so sure of something. But, it was still out of your character.

His face wasn't readable as he plopped on the drivers seat, next to you in the passengers.

He shut the door, and his hands started tapping the wheel in thought. Your instinct was to speak.

"I never got what your lyrics really meant until I sang them just now. Until I sang them in front of you." You turn, to look at the side of his face.

"It kills you to hide the truth from your self about how you really feel, but it doesn't have to be like that-"

"(y/n)"

He stops, turning to meet your glance. His eyes that once held a sense of warmth, now radiated an uneasy chill at the call of your name.

" 'The Kill'  is about confronting the truth about who you are, and being honest with yourself..

"I asked you to sing that song because I know your trying to be someone your not. And I don't know why because your such an amazing person! I get that kids your age go through-"

"Kids my age?" You stop him mid sentence.

"First of all, I'm not a 'kid', if you want to get scientific, kids are goats, but i get what you mean. I'm not a child either." You stress, a bit shocked.

You were only returned with silence.

"Is that what I am to? A kid? Is that all you see me as?" You finish, your tone easing into legitimate wonder. It wasn't harsh as it should have been, because it made you sad.

"No! I see you as a lot of of things. Your talented, ambitious, and very prepossessing..."

All the doubt and anger you harnessed vanished as fast as it came across.

He called me prepossessing

You repeated to your self in your head.  That shut you up for sure. You wanted to blush, cry, and laugh at the same time. It was like you were on your period. Minus the gore.

"Listen. I can't lie and say I haven't felt anything this past week.."

You felt like you could smile a smile your muscles couldn't dream to contract.
