I jerked my head up to the voice. It was Ambrose. My friend, for a short time. Wow, I never thought a mans voice could go that high.

" 'That' is my son." I replied in a snarky voice.

" Rose Hathaway, or Mazur, or Hunter... oh whatever," he trailed off, " I mean you have a son?"

" How perceptive." I didn't mean to sound so rude, but I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone from the past.

" Well I mean... come on, you with a son? It's kind of hard to believe."

" I know." I said as I continued shuffling down the hallway. He didn't stop me as I passed by. We continued down to the private kitchen of the palace. I laughed at my angles reaction to sound of the giant palace with endless noise from rooms and guards. Nobody dared approach us, either they were scared or polite, I don't know which.

After I fed Erik I decided to go for a walk outside with him. Tatiana had private gardens in the back that barely anybody stepped in. It was the perfect place for alone time. Accept we weren't alone.I spun around at the sound of footsteps, Erik in one hand, knife in another. Ready for my attacker.

" I left her you know." The shadow said as he approached.

" Thanks for the update, Fireboy." He hung his head like a sad puppy.

" She was a bitch to you, I'm sorry." I covered Eriks ears.

"Sorry, sorry." Wow, this isn't the Christian I remember.

"It's ok," I reply, hopping that he realizes I obviously slipped up many times in front of Erik,"your fine."

"Is he yours?" He asked in a gentile tone.

"Yeah"

"And I can guess the father?"

"Yeah."

After a few second of staring at my son he seemed to have an epiphany. A smile erupted on his face as he said, " Hey buddy, I'm your Uncle Christian." He waved. It broke my heart.

Erik didn't know what was going on, I think he was confused on who I was talking to than to realize he was being spoken to. And Christian had no idea Erik couldn't see him.

" Angel, that's your Uncle Chrissies voice." He gurgled. One of the happiest sounds came out of his mouth.

"Cwwiisseeeee, cwwisseee." He clapped.

"Do you want to hold him?" Christian looked astonished.

"Are you sure I can?"

"Sure." I handed Erik to him. " See, it doesn't take a genius."

"Thanks... he looks just like his father."

"I know." I said solemnly.

" Oh gosh, I'm sorry."

" Its fine, but I'm gonna have to call the doctors, your getting soft." He laughed.

" Well I'm not the one with a kid." I chuckled. I was gonna get back at him for that. Rose Mazur is the queen of comebacks.

We spent a while catching up in the garden and playing with Erik. It was a blessing to have some peace in the day. It was nice to go back to the old ways, making smart comments and just not caring about life for a while.

"Where did he get his eyes from?" He asked, studying Erik's tiny face.

"He was born blind." I said nonchalantly, trying not to make a big deal of it. Erik's a tough boy and I'm so proud of him.

"I'm sorry." He stated.

" Don't be."I said." It's not your fault, or anyone's for that matter."

We kept talking while walking through the endless garden. It was only when the sun started to come up and Erik fell asleep did we start to head inside. Christian was walking me to my room when we heard voices from outside the suit.

" Do you think she'll be coming back soon?" Said a women.

" I don't know, but if we're gonna do this, it better be now." Whispered a man.

I heard the lock of my door jiggle and footsteps coming to check the hallway, and that's when Christian, with Erik in his arms, and I ran.
