My jaw drops, and quickly snaps shut. Dimitri Belikov. He was here. Looking right at his son.
My son.
Our son.
The shock on his face is apparent. His mask completely gone.
"They said you would be here." He stutters. Still overcoming the fact that his mini me was perched atop my hip, but for some reason avoiding the obvious.
"Who are they?" I question, addressing the reason he came. Not many people knew where I was staying. I was hoping to keep my privacy.
"The Guardian Council is in a meeting, they wanted to invite you." He states, putting back on his mask.
"Of course, let me get ready." I reply with confidence. I turn to go back inside the apartment as he puts a hand on my shoulder. I shudder at his touch, and shake the hand off.
"Rose! Can we talk?" He asks frantically as he gestures to Erik. Backing away at the realization that I was uncomfortable with his touch. It was like being hit with a brick wall, he wanted to talk, but am I ready for that talk?
"Later." I replied as I quickly rush inside the living space and close the door. "You are dismissed, Guardian Belikov." And the door slams shut.
Erik tugs on my hair. Clearly noticing my shaking hands clinging to him. "Momma?"
I kiss his forehead and hug him tight as I walk to the nursery. "It's going to be alright Angel."
