My eyes fluttered open. Soft yellow light filled them as I looked around. The room was gray, with a small window letting in the light streaks of gold. The room had a single bed which I was currently on, and the other corner had a small armchair. In that armchair was Dimitri.

"What happened?" I croaked. My throat hurt like hell, and it took all my strength not to cringe in pain. He stiffened, but didn't look to me.

There was pain in his husky voice as he wispered, "I thought you were dead, Roza, you scared me." Still looking at the wall.

"That makes two of us." I whisper in the same tone. I just looked at the ceiling for a few minutes. I am alive. "How in hell did I survive?"

He finally looked at me, and the bruise on his eye was enough to finally make me cringe. "I got him off you just in time, you were barley breathing. You've been out for two days, I didn't know if you would make it."

"Oh."

"I woke up and you were being dragged away." He croaked. "After days they took me to you. You're so strong Roza, I don't know how you survived what they did, but thank God."

For a long time we just sat there, looking at each other. I realized again why I loved him. He was a God. The definition of strength and power. Beautiful, caring, and the only one in the world who could make me weak to my knees.

"You should get some rest, Roza. You've had a long couple of days, we can talk tomorrow." I nodded, and lied back, closing my eyes.

I woke up in that room again sometime after. Dimitri had his eyes closed and his faced pressed against a cousion. He had slept on the chair.

I got up quietly from the bed and stretched, not wanting to wake him. The burning in my throat had lessened, but my whole body still felt like hell.

On the opposite side of the tiny room were two doors. I needed to clean myself up, I hadn't bathed in who knows how long. Ugh. I walked over to one of the doors and placed my hand on the cool handle.

Opening the door wide, a large gust of cold wind entered, freezing me to the bone. I quickly shut the door that I just found out lead outside.

A small cough made me turn around to see Dimitri sitting up wide awake.

"Uhh... sorry about that."I said glancing out the window, which showed a snowy white landscape."So, where in are we?"

"We're in a motel a few hours from Omsk. We're in Russia, Rose." My head jerked upward.

"Russia!" He nodded. We had been kidnapped and taken to Russia. Great. Just fantastic.

"It must be winter by now, its freezing." I muttered. I hadn't forgotten what winters in Norvisbirsk were like. "Wait. Did you say Omsk? That means we can go to your family." He flinched.

"I haven't seen my family in years." His eyes filled with regret."Not since I was turned, they wouldn't accept me " I knew that, I guess. When I had traveled there the whole family still thought he was dead. They had been ecstatic to find out otherwise.

"They would." He stared at me.

"How would you know that? They think I'm dead, or at least a strigoi." He wispered softly.

"Because I went to see them." His gaze stayed on me.

"Why would you do that?"

"I guess we need to have that talk now, huh, comrade." He gave me a small glare.

"Tasha told me she trained with you in Norvisbirsk. I didn't even know you were friends."

"I guess we are." I paused, and sat up straighter, swinging my legs around the bed.

"There's more than that though, a lot happened in 3 years." He looked sad.

"I know." There was regret in his voice.

"I hunted for a long time, you really broke me Dimitri. It was the only thing that made me feel strong." His eyes showed remorse."I lived with my father, that's when I changed my name to Mazur. It was nice, I had family with me."

"Then why would you go see mine?" He wondered. I looked down at the floor, it was time.

"Because my son needed to meet his family." I said softly. The shock showed in his eyes.

"What? Son, Roza? You have a son?" He said louder, with more force.

"Yes." I gulped, Dimitri's fists has turned red as he waited for me to explain. "He needed to meet his father's family, your family Dimitri. Because your his father." I wispered and watched as his face contorted in suprise.

I had just confessed to one of the biggest secrets of my life in a motel room. And I just watched as the walls I had built around me come down.

The shock and pain on Dimitri's face was unbearable. He stood from the chair swiftly and walked outside, slamming the door with force.

As it shut I whispered, "Im so sorry." He turned and I saw a single tear run down his cheek.

"I have a son" He muttered in shock as he turned around and the door closed completely. I was left all alone. I felt tears sting on my own face.

Betrayal. He felt betrayed, and it was my fault. I had kept him from the son he never knew he had. I did to him, what he had done to me.

Ignored the love we had for each other.
