The cool stone floor pressed up against my cheek as I woke up from an involuntary sleep. The world around me was cold, a cage of rock . Light splintered from a small crack in the ceiling, displaying a small damp room with stairs leading to a door. There was a chair in the corner across from me, and right beside me, a man.
Dimitri was lying on the ground to my right, not having woken up himself. I glance around the room one more time before looking down at my bonds. They were shackled around my ankles and feet, binding me to close too the wall for my comfort.
It must have been hours later that the door burst open, I had stopped keeping track of time. Artificial light flooded the room and the pounding feet entered. I looked up as my eyes adjusted to the bright light.
He was large, sickening, and deadly. A creepy and cruel smirk was on his face as his bright red eyes looked at me like I was an object. A toy for the strigoi to play with.
"Well, well, well. Look at that, the infamous Rose Mazur on my floor." I kept my mouth shut.
"You scared, little girl? Cause you should be." He cracked his knuckles and smiled menacingly. "Hey boys, get in here!" Two other strigoi charged in. They looked ready to follow any command he gave them.
"Help me bring the girl out. Now." He ordered
"I'm not touching that thing." The younger looking one said, a bit scared.
"DID YOU THINK THAT WAS A QUESTION?" He screamed. The two looked frightened.
"No sir!" They scrambled to drag me up and unhook my change. I flinched as the metal came off. They hauled me out of the room, pain hitting my side as I was pushed out the door.
The room opened up into a long corridor, and I was lead to a separate room, it looked like an interrogation room. The next thing I new I was tied up to a chair, the leader standing before me.
"You've cost me a lot of lives, Hunter." He growled.
"Good." I spit back. Pain flowed threw my face as his fist connected with it.
"The first lesson you will learn is you do not talk back to me!" He yanked my hair so hard my scalp almost ripped as he bent down towards my ear and whispered, "Now your gonna tell me exactly what the Queen is planning."
"What do you mean planning?" I panted as another blow hit my side.
"Your going to tell my how to kill the Queen, Miss Mazur, and then you're going to help me do it."
"I don't think I'm up for that." I spit blood from my mouth in his face.
He wound up for another blow, and another. My body was in searing pain as I refused to tell him about the Queens detail and her agenda, I couldn't. My ribs, chest, arms, and face ached as he kept on punching and kicking me.
"What is she planing?"
"I don't know!" I screamed. He grabbed ahold of my fingers.
"WHAT!" He snapped one. I howled in pain.
"IS!" Another crack.
"SHE!" And another.
"PLANNING!" The last two snapped like twigs. The pain was unimaginable. My arm burning like nothing I had ever felt before.
Water was dumped on my head, and I was strangled and beaten as time passed by. Erik, I had to survive for Erik. I never cried, but it felt like it was never going to end.
Then without a word, I was left there in the room, alone. A long time passed as my body reacted to the beating I had just gotten. I emptied the contents of my stomach on the floor, and then some. I lie in waiting for the torture soon to come.
The door opened again as the same ugly strigoi strutted in and someone was with him. A moroi man, tall and lean, contrasting to the bulk of the leader, and most definitely terrified.
"This is Austin Camester, Miss Mazur." He motioned toward the scared man, who did nothing.
"What do you think a moroi can do to me?" I growled. "I'm never gonna give you what you want."
"Oh I think you will, see Austin here is a water user. And I'm going to show you the extent of his power." I groaned nothing could make me feel worse than how I already felt.
"Like what, find Nemo?" He motioned to the man.
"Like this." Slowly a sensation in my body started forming. It started with my toes, and spread upwards making my whole body go numb. Pain started striking and I realized just how minor the torture I had gotten earlier was, this felt much different. Worse.
" Curious thing about blood, it makes up a more than two thirds of your body. And you know what in blood?" He smirked, enjoying himself. "Water. And Mr. Camester here now controls your blood flow."
I felt as if I was on fire. In that moment I wished I had never left court, still had Dimitri and all my friends. Everything that happened before was nothing compared to this. White clouded my vision as the worst torment imaginable was placed on my body. Pain every where, my muscles and organs deprived of oxygen.
I couldn't breath.
