"Little town, its a quiet village. Everyday like the one before. Little town, full of little people, waking up to say," Steve sang to himself. All of a sudden people started popping up.
"Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour, bonjour, bonjour! There goes the baker with the tray like always. The same old bread and rolls to sell. Every mornings just the same, since the morning that we came. To this poor provincial town."
Steve was walking around the town doing his common chores.
"Good morning Stevie," Monsieur Thor greeted.
"Good morning Monsieur Thor, have you lost something again," Steve asked.
"Well, i believe i have. Problem is, Ive - cant remember what! Oh well, Im sure it'll occur to me. Where are you off to?"
"To return this book to Père Robert. Its about two lovers in fair Verona," Steve responds.
"Sounds boring," Thor replied.
"Look there he goes, that boy is strange, no question. Dazed and distracted cant you tell? Never part of any crowd, 'Cause his head's up on some cloud. No denying hes a funny boy that Steve! Bonjour! Good day, how is your family? Bonjour! Good day, how is your wife? I need six eggs. Thats too expensive!
There must be more than this provincial life!"
"Ahh, if it isn't the only bookworm in town!
So, where did you run off to this week," Natasha asked.
"Two cities in Northern Italy
I didn't want to come back!
Have you got any new places to go," Steve asked in return.
"Im afraid not.. But you may re-read any of the old ones you'd like."
"Your library makes our small corner of the world so big," Steve encouraged.
"Bon voyage," Natasha waved goodbye.
"Look there he goes, the boy is so peculiar . I wonder if he feeling well. With a dreamy, far off look and his nose stuck in a book. What a puzzle to the rest of us is Steve."
"Oh isnt this amazing, its my favourite part because - you'll see. Here's where she meets Prince Charming, but she wont discover that its him 'till chapter 3! "
"Now its no wonder his name means beauty. His looks have no parallel. But behind that fair facade, Im afraid hes rather odd. Very different from the rest of us. Hes nothing like the rest of us. Yes, nothing like the rest of us is Steve!"
"Look at him, Bruce - my future husband Steve is the most beautiful guy in the village. That makes him best," Tony told Bruce.
"But hes so... well-read! And you're so... athletically inclined," Bruce responded.
"Yes... but ever since the war, Ive felt like Ive been missing something. And hes the only boy that gives me sense of-," Tony started before being interrupted.
"Mmm... je ne sais quoi?"
"I dont know what that means. Right from the moment when I met him, saw him. I said hes gorgeous and i fell. In town there is only he who is beautiful as me. So im making plans to woo and marry Steve."
"Look there he goes isnt he dreamy? Monsieur Tony Oh hes so cute! Be still, my heart, Im hardly breathing! Hes such a tall, dark, strong, handsome brute!"
"Bonjour! Pardon. Good day! Mais oui! You call this bacon? What lovely flowers! Some cheese. Ten yards! One pound. Excuse me. I'll get the knife. Please let me through! This bread. Those fish. Its stale! They smell! Madames mistaken. Well, maybe so."
"There must be more than this provincial life!"
"Just watch i will make Steve my husband!"
"Look there he goes. That boy is strange but special. A most peculiar Monsieur! Its a pity and a sin, he doesnt quite fit in. Cause really hes a funny boy. A beauty but a funny boy. He really is a funny boy, that Steve!"
So Steve went on with his boring village life.
