As Damian got me up, I spotted something. Something small, something ripped off, something...human.
It was a body part. I gulped and walked towards it, holding my arm gently. I peered at it and then stepped back, disgusted. It was a pale ripped off finger. Blood was clattered all over it. It took all my will not to convulse right in front of Damian.
"Strange," He said quietly.
I nodded and looked at it again. I suddenly noticed something silver around it, and I crouched down again. The finger had a silver ring on it, with encraved words spelling love you much.
I swallowed. This ring was exactly like...Cody's.
No, don't assume that. It might just be a different custom-made ring. Either way, I should take it along.
I winced as my arm cracked alittle bit, and I beckoned Damian over.
"Pick up that ring, it looks like Cody's."
Damian only said "oh" and grabbed the finger. Sliding off the bloody ring, he wiped it on his shirt and then his fingers,"Here."
I pushed his arm away,"Ew,no! You hold on to it. Until we get a rag to clean it."
He shrugged and put it in his pant Jean pocket.
I walked slowly over to the end of the coaster, the crunching of the leaves scaring me. The air felt different, and I coughed occasionally. I could feel my arm getting worse by the second.
The whole coaster was a reck, rows of latches and bars missing. Some seats were actully crushed.
There was a few bloody people in the seats, some with missing arms and legs. But when I yelled at them to wake up, they never did stir. I shuddered at what this place has become.
Looking around the back of the coaster, I froze in my tracks.
No...no, no it can't be...
The tears came all too fast.
The muscular-battered body of Cody lay lifelessly part-way underneath the tip of the coaster. His legs were stuck, but his arms were okay at least.
Despite my injury, I ran over to him. Blinded by my tears, I tripped the last meter and fell nearly on top of him.
I screamed and balled his bloody shirt in my fist. I can't believe it, Cody was dead. DEAD.
My crying racked my whole body and I longed to feel the warm comforting sense of Cody's arm around my waist.
The nightmares just couldn't stop coming...
Why did we have to go here! Why did we have to get hit with the explosion! Why can't things just go back to normal...
Damian came up behind me and patted my shoulder. I could here his loud sniffs.
"Lina," He whispered,"We have to go...back."
We couldn't just leave him here! All bloody with this big cut along his waist and crushed legs.
Horrified expression on my face, I clutched him in my arms,"NO,NEVER!!"
"Look, I know he's your boyfriend and you love him and all, but there's no way we'll be able to get him out of here. Plus we might get sick if we stay out here any longer."
"Sick? SICK!? The only thing that I'm SICK of is you not helping me!" I yelled furiously.
Damian grumbled softly and grabbed my good arm,"Lina, we have to GO."
"STOP IT! I WON'T GO!" I tried shaking him off as he started to pull me away from my dead boyfriend.
I screamed and kept on screaming. His sweaty palms gripped my waist and I kicked him in the shin. He winced but held on,"STOP RESISTING!"
"DON'T DO THIS I NEED TO BE WITH HIM!" My crying swelled up inside me, and I fell limp with grief. My one and only was gone...
I sobbed into my arms. I didn't try to get up, so Damian picked me up with a loud grunt. He flipped my legs over his arms and held me like a damsel in distress.
And I was. I cried into Damian's cold chest as he walked through the destruction.
