Falling Inlove to my Bestfriend

FITMB 5: Heartbeats

Faye's POV

***5:45 p.m.***

Our classes is now dismissed. Month of November is running that's why dark is already peeping at this hour. I am currently walking to the school's main gate. My bestfriend is now waiting for me there.

I just exited the Business Administration Building when a drop of water suddenly dripped on my head. Napatigil ako at kinapa ang ulo kong nabasa. Mukhang uulan.

It's getting darker brought by the night hour and thick clouds spreaded on the sky. My parents will not be so worried about me anyways, because they know that Darryl would bring me home.

My senses were brought back to reality when another drop of water dripped on my head again. I just took my run when it dropped successively and the rain started to fall.

I continuously run until I reached a kiosk and stopped there to have my shelter. This kiosk is still far from the main gate so I will get wet if I try to run for me to reach it. How can I get there now? Darryl's waiting for me there and will probably get wet, too!

I realized something and I just found my self so stupid because of that. Why didn't I tought of that solution immediately? I opened my bag and tried to look for my... Sh.t, much stupid. Now, I forgot that my sister borrowed my umbrella. Uggggh! What a life?!

So what can I do now? *ting!* I feel so bright when an idea suddenly came inside my smart mind. I browse my bag again and searched for it. I felt great when I finally saw it, but only to find out that it was... low battery.

I can't help but to stamp my feet on the floor while frowning. Its too dark already. I am now wet. Nabasa na nang tuluyan ang ulo at ang polo ko dahil sa ampiyas ng ulan dala ng malakas na hangin. Pati sapatos ko ay pinasok na ng tubig dahil nagsisimula ng magkatubig ang loob ng sementong kubo. I just hugged my self. Darryl, nasan ka naaa? Wouldn't you come here inside and look for me, your bestfriend?

6:08. I am getting scared already when my eyesight caught a black umbrella not that far from where I am. Black? I get too shaky when the tought of kamatayan came inside my mind.

"Faye? Faye Marie?? Make some respond please! Best?!!"
My mind clapped when I heard Darryl's voice as he approaches the kiosk. He's here!

"FAYE?! BE---"
"D-Darryl..." I almost whispered.
"Best?! Best!! God! I'm so much worried about you! I thought you were in dange---"
"I-Its c-cold-d..." I am now totally shaking not because of fear anymore but because of coldness that I am feeling now.

He hastily removed the coat of the uniform he wears and put it on my shoulder. I accidentally turned my sight on his six-packed abs grooved on his wet white long sleeve polo when he suddenly pulled me for a hug.

*Dugdug. Dugdug. Dugdug.*

Napalunok ako sa kasalukuyang reaksyon ng puso ko. Heartbeats. Heartraces. I should feel normal. It's not the first time, I mean he always hugs me. But... what is this I am feeling right now? Naguguluhan na 'ko. This is the second time I feel it, and the first is when we were playing his invented game. The same feeling.

*Dugdug. Dugdug. Dugdug.*

Nagulat ako sa narinig ko. Heartbeats. But this time, it's not mine, but his. Different sounds than normal, but the same as mine. Sinabi niyang sobra siyang nag-alala sa akin... na bestfriend niya. Maybe those heartbeats signifies nothing but just nervousness. At hindi malabong ganoon din lamang ang ibig sabihin ng sa akin. We are both nervous brought by our worries about this happening.

"Is it giving you temperature on any way?" He asked.
I just nodded. Wala pa ring matinong salitang lumalabas sa bibig ko.
"Good then, let's stay like this for a more while."

Almost 15 minutes has passed before the rain stopped. Medyo maayos na din ang pakiramdam ko because of of my bestfriend's hug.

Darryl released me from his warm hug when a light from a flashlight pointed on us.
The circle of light is getting smaller so it means that the person who handles it approches us, only to find out that it is the school guard.

"Mga bata? Ano pang ginagawa niyo dyan? Aba'y gabi na ah? Nakita ko kayong magkayakap, aba'y naku baka gumagawa kayo ng milagro dito ha? Baka ginawa niyo itong tagpuan para magtana---"

"G-Grabe ka naman sa milagro manong! A-Ano po! M-Magbestfriend lang kami manong! D-Diba?!" Why the hell am I stuttering?! Magmumukha tuloy akong nagsisinungaling. I elbowed Darryl's waist telling him to help me defend our side against this dirty-minded school guard.

I frown when I saw him just giggling on my side. What the---?
"A-Ah yes po manong. I am just giving her some heat---aray!"
Nakita kong nagulat si manong sa sinbi niya so I suddenly pinch him on his side.
Why just he can't agree that we are just bestfriend, does he still needs to say the heat thingy??! Uggh he is on the mood to do some trip again!

"Aba't may paheat heat pa kayong nalalaman ha? Irereport ko kayo sa principal bukas! Dun niyo ikuwento iyang heat na storya ninyo!" Manong's brows crease as he told us.

Darryl giggled which made manong's brows to crease more.
"Okay manong. Report us to the principal, no problem about that! As long as you know our names!"
Darryl immediately ran after saying those and tugged me going away from manong.

"Aba't mga batang ito! Hoy bumalik kayo rito! Anong pangalan niyong mga bata kayo, hoy!"
Rinig pa namin ang pagsigaw niya pero tuloy lang si Darryl sa pag hila sa akin.

"Hey! Pano kung mamukhaan niya tayo?!" I asked between our run.

"Its too dark for us to be recognized. Besides, malabo na ang mata ni manong, so maaari niya tayong mamukhaan, but still not clear." Darryl winked at me after saying those.
Pssh. Bad bestfriend. Hahaha

I do not know why we need to run from manong. Maybe because Darryl want to have a trip with that guard. Hayss, this mean bestfriend. >_<

We continue our run eventhough our uniform is already full of mud spray, until we reached the parking lot. And all I know now is we are both hardly gasping for air.
