Shyla's POV
I was speechless, uncomfortable, crying my heart out at the sight before me. We had followed the trail of bloody handprints to the end of the hall and found the saying. The words were there, plain as day, but what they were written in was another thing altogether. They looked fresh still, and they were still dripping with Rachel's blood.
No matter how much I wanted to look away, I couldn't. The sight was unbearable, but I wouldn't stop staring at it. The only thing that I couldn't find was the flesh, bones, and hair, everything else was there in front of us.
"I can't believe this," Andrew said.
"What can't you believe? The killers are insane, what else would you expect from them?" Diley responded.
"How are you so... like this? How are you so calm, how.... do you know that there was more than one person?" I faded off in the end, realizing that she had always been saying 'them' and 'they'.
Diley just stared at us, not saying anything, and then started to twitch. It was only her head that did it, but it was like something was going on in her mind. Almost as if something else was there, not just Bailey and Dixey.
"Diley?" Amanda questioned.
No response.
"Dixey," Amanda said more sternly.
"Wha- what's going on?" Dixey said. Her eyes were now both blue, the red still hiding a bit in both eyes, but completely noticeable. They were back to how they normally would look.
"Dixey, enough hiding things from us. What the heck is going on?" I shouted.
We had all had enough of all the secrets that we were suddenly learning about Dixey. Tired of her hiding things from us. Tired of her breaking down in front of us at random times. We were done with it and wanted the truth.
"If I told you, then you wouldn't help us anymore," Dixey responded.
"If you don't tell us then our friendship is over!" Amanda yelled.
Everyone was silent. Dixey and Amanda were best friends, and nothing ever separated them. Sure they had their fights like every other friend group, but they always made up within 10 minutes. Neither of them ever got the thought of ending the friendship, but I guess things change.
There were no words for the longest time between the two, just silence and staring. The look in Dixey's eyes wasn't like they usually were. Dixey was never the fighter of the partnership with Bailey, she was the one to end the conflict, to resolve the fight with peace and not violence. But her eyes showed fury, anger, resentment.
Amanda's eyes, though, were a different story. Her dark brown eyes were filled with worry, regret, and remorse. But then again, there was a small hint of anger, but not enough to deal with the other emotions.
Suddenly, Dixey's eyes were as red as they ever could get, almost as if they were to set fire in an instant. She then spoke in a deep voice that didn't sound like Bailey at all, "You're just like them."
Bailey shook her head and gripped it, letting out a grunt, "You don't need to be in this, leave us alone!" It was in her voice.
Her eyes flashed back to blue again, "We did what you told us to do, now leave us be!"
She gave out a painful scream, her eyes now turning into a pitch-black, even covering the sclera. Her hand gripped her head even tighter, her knuckles going white, and she screamed more. As soon as it started, it stopped.
The girl in front of us had no longer been screaming, and her eyes were no longer blue, nor were they red. They stayed the deep black that they were in before.
