Chapter 2:
I did everything I needed to do at home. Then I grabbed my backpack and headed out. It's a lazy day for me, it usually is though. I was just gonna take a walk, maybe buy some things. Accidental shopping is what I call it. Really I was just trying to avoid the new person moving in. I got down to the main floor and I waved goodbye to Ava and her aunt. It's a nice day out, it's kind of cloudy but I doubt it'll rain soon. I ordered an uber to pick me up earlier, and I was gonna take it to the closest Barnes and Noble. My plan is to get some coffee from the Starbucks there and then walk around and see where I end up. I got my usual order, but of course they spelt my name wrong. I come to this Starbucks all the time and they always spell it wrong. Like seriously it's only four letters!
I decided to just walk down the street. It's currently 4:30, I have like 2 hours of sunlight left. I see a group of people standing outside of this small music place that I never seem to go in. This group of people caught my attention, so of course I'm going to go in now. I managed to walk past all those people and got inside. This place is pretty cool there's records, instruments, band merch, and stuff. I can see why there was people outside, but why aren't they inside. There's only three people in here, not including me. I didn't mind the less people the better. Ava texted me.
Ava- " you've been gone all day, thought I'd let you know they're almost done moving in, so you can come out of hiding soon. They haven't shown up since they signed the contract, the movers have been doing all the work."
She knows me so well.
I ended up staying and looking in this place for awhile. They have an endless collection of records. I was looking through them so entertained that I didn't even notice the person on the opposite end of the section. Some random guy. I ended up scooting closer to him, and him to me as we continued to look at the records. I saw a Bob Marley record and I reached to grab it, but so did he. I let go of the record immediately and said "Oh my bad." I didn't look up. I'm so shy around people that I started blushing bad. I walked around him and looked on the other side of him. He laughed. I continued "looking" through the records, but I'm low key looking out of the corner of my eyes to see what he's doing. He put the record back and grabbed the next record I was gonna grab. Whoever this stranger is he has good taste in music. " You know you don't have to be shy. Why don't you just talk to me?" He said. I looked up and saw him looking at me. " It's ok, I'm nice. I promise." The stranger seemed to think I knew him. Either that or he's just a really friendly dude. " I never said you're rude. I just don't talk to strangers." I finally answered as I walked away. But the door was still crowded by people who weren't coming in, because who knows why actually.
I went to the checkout. "Excuse me?", I said because no one was at the checkout. "You can go out through the back.", said the stranger's voice. " What kind of place is this?" I said " What kind of store doesn't let the customer leave?" I basically yelled. There was that laugh again. "The kind that makes you buy something to get out." The stranger answered to my remark. I laughed a little because that was pretty funny. He walked up to me again and said "Hey, my name is Alex nice to meet you."
The store manager finally came with two other guys. "You aren't supposed to be in here miss", the store manager said. "It's okay she's with me." Alex said. "I think it's time to go. Shall we go?" He said to the two other guys there, and then turned to me. He grabbed my hand and followed the two other guys through the back of the store.
We got into a black truck that was parked in the alley. The truck pulled out of the alley and got on to the street. "Where are you going?" Alex asked. "Can you actually just drop me off at the corner of this street, at that Barnes and Noble?" I replied. That's exactly what they did and I got off. "Thanks", I said as I closed the door. I went inside and ordered an uber again to get back home.
