Today was your birthday and your friends had somehow convinced you to go out. You weren't usually a club girl, you'd much rather stay at home and watch Netflix. However, the three of them had put up a great argument. It was your birthday and you hadn't gone out in ages. They promised that one of them would be with you the entire time and they even said you wouldn't have to drink anything. How could you say no? You didn't want to constantly shoot down their plans.
The four of you showed up to the club quite early into the night, hoping to skip as much of the line as you could. Thankfully your friends were treating you and they had all chipped in for a booth for the night. Each of you agreed to take shifts watching your things, none of you wanted to run the risk of something getting stolen.
As soon as you were all comfortable, the music started. It took you a few minutes to actually get on the dance floor. It took even longer for you to fully let go and dance your heart out.
Baby, this is what you came for. Lighting strikes every time she moves.
Before you knew it, you were a sweaty mess with aching feet. After letting your friend know that you were leaving, you went to the booth. Ellie, the girl who had been watching over everything for the past hour, was delighted to have her turn on the dance floor.
From behind you you could hear loud laughs and clinking of glasses. Not daring to turn around, you used the reflection from your phone screen to look. A large group of eight boys were seated in the booth behind you. They all appeared to be tall, something tragic for you as you weren't the tallest person in the world. You just shrugged off their volume, they were obviously having a good time.
Ten minutes passed and the conversation behind you had dwindled down, but you felt like there were eyes on you. You decided to risk looking behind you. The majority of boys were on their phones, but there was a dark skinned boy who was looking at you. You quickly spun back around, busying yourself with your Instagram and Twitter feeds.
After one of your friends showed up to switch with you, you quickly got back to the dance floor. You moved to the music and, although you would never admit it, you were actually having fun.
Baby, this is what you came for. Lightning strikes every time she moves. And everybody's watching her, but she's looking at you.
Eyes were on you once again. You spun around and locked eyes with the man from before. Soon enough, the two of you were dancing. Your hips were moving in time and everything felt good.
We go fast till they can't replay, who knows why it's gotta be this way. We say nothing more than we need, I say "your place" when we leave
Five songs, four mumbled apologies, three drinks, two texts, and one cab later, the two of you were in his apartment. All you knew was his name.
---
When you woke, the bed was empty beside you. You could hear the shower running so you took the time as your opportunity to leave. You gathered your things, trying to get dressed as quickly as you could. You were too slow. JJ stepped out of the shower, a fluffy white towel wrapped tightly around his waist. Your eyes traced the lines of his body and you both stopped in your tracks. "Stay for breakfast." He said. You hesitated, but soon started nodding your head. His face broke out into a grin.
The two of you spent almost two hours in the kitchen making a mess. By the end of the morning, the two of you knew each other enough to set up another date. He knew where he would take you based on that morning. You felt comfortable, forgetting the fact that you only met him last night.
You knew it would be the start to something great.
