In the version of Disney Mulan is a girl who is forced into a marriage she doesn't want. Instead she masks herself as a man to fight in a war since her father is too old. In the end China wins and Mulan lives happily ever after with Li Shang.
But in the original tale it will make you rethink. China looses the war. The Khan from the enemy lets Mulan live as long as she lives with him. Then Milan escapes and discovers that her father is dead and her mother remarried.
Mulan them says, " I am a women, I survived the war, and I have done enough." Those were her last words as she killed herself.
