"Ladies get up! It's your first day of school!" Said Olivia as she called us from downstairs. I rolled out of bed, and made my way towards the door. I've been thinking it through all night. I go to school with Morty and I can probably talk to him and see if he knows if there is any way to fix what had happened. Today is the day we've also been invited over for the welcoming dinner at the Smith house. I've got one chance to make this right, I can do this.
When Zen and I got to school, we first found our lockers, and made our way to class. I knew from last time I did this, I had my first class with Summer, I'm not sure if she's seen me around the neighborhood yet, but I'm going to find out.
When I got to the class, the teacher gave the whole run down about being a new kid and how everyone should love me and so forth. When he signaled me to go pick a seat, I insanity picked the one by summer.
"Sweet new girl," she said. "Its been a while since we've had a new student here."
I smiled at her, then opened my book. "Its been a while since I've seen someone so nice around here. I swear everyone just likes to avoid people. Like come on, I just want to fit in, right?" I said.
She chuckled, "well you seem cool, so I bet you can fit in with my group."
The teacher began the lesson, and I did no attempt on paying attention. High school is stupid, only for idiot. I just doodled in my book the whole time until the class was over. When the bell rang, I swear it was like having a weight lifted off my shoulders. I picked up my books and tried to leave before summer stopped me, "Hey so my mom's having the new neighbors over for dinner tonight. I was thinking since they're new and so are you, maybe you'd like to come?"
I smiled at her offer, "that would be nice but I already have dinner plans with the neighbors across the street from where I'm living."
She screamed in joy, "is it just you, your mom and your sister?"
I nodded my head, "but she's not my mom. Just some lady who decided to take my sister and I in."
She laughed, "well I guess I'll see you tonight anyway!" She picked her stuff up, and walked out of the classroom. I was about to do the same until I heard someone scream my name. When I turned around I saw Zen in the doorway.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
She seemed just a little frantic.
"There's this kid in my math class that knows everything about you and I. I think his name is Maury, Marty-"
"Morty?"
"That's it! How does he know so much about us?" She asked. I walked behind her and rubbed her shoulder, "I'll have to explain later, but right now, I need to find that kid."
