As Hook rowed the rowboat from the mainland to his ship, I took the time to actually think about what has happened to me in the past couple hours. So I realized Peter Pan goes to my school, then he kidnapped me, then I realized I'm stronger then him, and finally I beat him with magic and ran away to only run into the famous Captain Hook.

I feel like it's a children's story gone wrong.

I look up at the rising sun and relish in the fact I am not captured by Pan still. As I climb up the ladder behind Hook, it finally hits me that I am on a boat with Captain Hook and he is attractive!

Hook turned around and looks at me.

"So you were going to tell me about some prophecy?" I asked because, frankly, I am so curious that I, Jo Walsh, might be in a prophecy.

"Ay, so I did. Would you like to have a seat in my cabin, and we'll talk," he responded. I follow him and observed my surroundings. There were plenty of men, all obviously pirates, but they didn't really seam to be mean or rough-housy. As I walked past, they took off their caps, and put them to their chests, just like any well-mannered gentleman from the 1700s would do if a woman walked by. Funny that it is 2016 and nobody does this nowadays I thought.

I stepped into Hook's cabin and took a seat in a plush red chair on the opposite side of the desk he sat at.

"So, you realize the sun is rising right now, correct?" he asked.

I look out the window and say, "Ya, just like any normal morning."

"Yes, but not in Neverland. There is no day here, there is only dark and night. The sun is rising because you came to Neverland."

I looked at him dumbfounded. "Yes, because I have the power to make the sunrise," I said sarcastically.

"Actually, yes, you do. You are the rightful ruler of Neverland."

I looked at him again as my jaw dropped. It seems to be happening a lot lately. I was totally and completely speechless.

When he realized I wasn't going to say anything, he continued, "You are the person the Prophecy is written about. It goes: The One who discovers Peter Pan's true identity will bring light to Neverland and rule as the rightful Queen. But one may fall for the other, which can either bring eternal glory or the inevitable end for Neverland."

"And how is that prophecy even true. Why is it me? How can it be me? I mean I understand I can do some magic and stuff, but isn't it Neverland, it grants all children's wishes and mainly, IT DOESN'T EVEN RHYME!" I said in one breath. I was completely terrified at the fact that I mught be a Queen of Neverland... But actually... it seemed kind of cool.

"Well, one, the sun did rise when you arrived. Secondly, it did say Queen, and you are the only new girl here, and finally, the Indian Tribe revealed this Prophecy, and the Indian prophecies are always correct," He responded.

I just stared at him.

After what felt like five hours of awkward silence, I stood up, startling Hook, and marched towards the window. "You know what? I'll go along with this. But if I am to be the rightful ruler of Neverland, I'm going to need my own band of people."

Before you think I'm going crazy, let me just ask you this: If you were told you were the rightful ruler of anywhere, especially Neverland, wouldn't you be like Bitch, I got this! C'mon, I can't be the only one who would be happy to rule anything/anywhere!

Exactly.

Hook looked at me. "Well that was surprisingly easy for you to understand. I pictured this being a lot rougher."

I turned around. "How does Peter fly?"

"What?"

"How does Peter fly?"

"Well, I have heard that Peter cut off his shadow, causing him to be able to fly freely without constraint.  Also the shadow then can move freely too.  He gets his lost boys here by getting his shadow to take them."

I sat there for another moment as I thought.  If I was stronger then Peter, and the prophecy is true, then I could at least assume that I can cut off my shadow.  "How do cut off my shadow?"

"I'm sorry?"

"How can I cut off my shadow?" I said slowly, like I was talking to a child.

"I thought you said that but I wasn't sure. Why would you even consider cutting off your shadow?" Hook asked. He seemed very confused.

"Well, I need something to fly back to Earth and get all my friends to come. And Pan did it and his shadow is going to need a match to fight against," I responded with a duh-tone.

He looked at me, shrugged towards my response, got up, and walked to a chest sitting in the corner of his cabin. He opened and revealed a fancy looking dagger the size of my forearm and had a gold, carved handle. Hook handed it me and said "This dagger is supposed to be given to the person of the prophecy. A way to see if you truly are the person of the prophecy is that this dagger should be able to rip of your shadow, but if you aren't, well, then, good luck."

I gaped at him. "You said that I am the person of the prophecy, and how do you know what happens to a person if they aren't? Has there been someone before me?"

Sadness and regret flashed before his eyes before his stare grew cold. "That doesn't matter in the situation at hand. Go outside and try it."

He seemed very upset about what I asked so I decided to ignore it and just go outside. If he wanted to tell me what happened, he could when he's ready.

I step back into the morning air and looked down at my shadow in front of me. I took the dagger and put the point at the very edge of my boot, where my shadow began, and started dragging it along my shadow's line.

I shuddered as it felt like I was cutting the strings between me and my shadow. The more I cut, the lighter I felt. I picked up my dagger to bring it to the other foot when I saw my shadow lift the leg I just cut on its own, floating in the air. I continued to cut at my other foot until I was done.

My shadow flew up before me and gave me a thumbs up. "Thank goodness my shadow's nice," I said aloud.

I turned around to see Hook giving me a look of pure happiness. "So you are the rightful Queen!" he exclaimed.

"Can I have a pen and paper please?" I asked him. Hook glanced at one of his men and the man ran towards Hook's cabin. Within seconds, he was back with a quill, ink, and paper.

I took it, while trying to hold back my laughter. I mean really, a quill? I dipped the point into the ink and started writing.

Dear May,

This is Jo. If I have been gone for as long as I thought I have, then my parents are probably searching for me. Don't show anyone this letter, please. So, you know the whole story of Peter Pan and Captain Hook and stuff? Ya, I'm kind of stuck in the middle of it... Long story short, Peter's evil, Hook's hot, and I'm in some prophecy.

If you are wondering what brought you this letter, it's my shadow. It's cool so don't worry. But, ya, I need someone I can trust with me as I embark on some crazy adventure. I know you would totally want to join me so please come. I need you!!!!!!! Also, if you do come, wear something comfy and easy to run in, and secondly, if you can't come, please write me a letter response why.

Please come! I need your help!

From your totally in your now debt friend,

Jo.

I signed off the letter, folded it up, and gave it to my shadow.

"Bring this to May and fly her back here if you can please," I told it. It nodded it's head and flew off into the morning sunrise.
