I had learned,
it wasn't easy but trying didn't hurt the same way as leaving you did.
I had learned to not look by my side,
when you weren't there.
I had learned to avoid those eyes
that had promised fidelity till eternity.
I had learned to not wake up in the middle of the night,
just to seek solace in those arms.
I had learned to wake up at dawn,
without those eyes staring at me while I slept.
But yesterday,
seeing you walking with her made me realize
that I wasn't a good learner after all.
