Conner's POV
The Demeter cabin was empty. I ran out to the strawberry fields and spotted Lilac, Katie's sister.
"Lilac! Have you seen Katie?"
She looked up. "She stopped by but I think she was looking for someone. Maybe Travis." Lilac looked down in anger. She seemed like she wanted to choke Travis with vines, and was barely restraining herself.
I thanked her and ran back to the beach. I saw Katie walking towards the archery fields with tears running down her cheeks.
"Katie!" I shouted.
She turned around and looked at me. "T-Travis?"
I shook my head. "No, it's me! Connor!"
"Oh." Katie seemed disappointed.
We stood there awkwardly. "What are you doing?" I finally asked.
"I'm trying to find Chiron, but he's not anywhere!"
"Come on, he must be somewhere. Did you check the lake?"
She nodded. "And the Big House. And the strawberry fields. And-"
"Okay okay. Did you check the woods?"
Katie looked at me like a grew a third head. "Are you kidding? It's dangerous in there!"
I looked at her solemnly. "We have to. For Travis."
She nodded. "For Travis."
