I didn't even stop to think about how Percy would feel once I left him.

"Oh, sweet Hestia," I muttered angrily. "Oh, no no no no no, oh what did I do, oh my gosh, he kissed me and I ran away just because I thought he would hate me for being a peasant, oh my gosh, I totally just dumped the guy of my dreams for clothing and beauty, oh my gosh, aksjhghsjaldkfjalskdskaldjfhskaldjfhgsklsldj, ahhhhhhh what the heck was I thinking??!!!!" I became an emotional mess, the two sides of my brain screaming and going to war with each other. I crumped like a piece of paper, folding into myself and sobbing.

How shallow are you? I thought. You ran away from Percy because you were afraid he would find out that you're just a serving girl. Some princess you'd make...

A flash of light appeared next to me and Hestia sat down next to me. "Ah, Annabeth, darling, I know this isn't the best time to ask, but did you kiss him?" She asked gently but curiously and excitedly. I nodded.

She smiled and hugged me. "I think I know how we can make this better." Holding me hand, she helped me up and walked me over to the entrance to the house, where my carriage still sat. "Hop in and away we'll go!"

I got in next to my godmother, and the carriage began moving. It took my breath away, moving so quickly the distance to the castle shrank rapidly. We pulled into the castle and Hestia helped me out. The guards at the door bowed.

"Evening, Lady Hestia. Enjoy yourself," they chorused. We walked in.

I was stunned. "How do they know you?"

"I have my secrets, Annabeth. But don't worry, you will find out soon."

We continued to the ballroom, where people still danced and partied. Percy sat dejectedly on his throne, Queen Sally stroking his head softly. King Paul was ushering away servants and butlers who were concerned about the prince. Hestia led me straight through the floor, where a horde of people bowed, some gasping and fainting.

She strode right up to the thrones and said, "Ah, Percy, child, it seems your friend has returned." And she pushed me towards him.

I started to cry. "Percy, I'm so sorry, I just..."

His green eyes, once sad, lit up and he stood. "Annabeth?" He came closer. "My grandmother told me what happened, with you. I... I was just so shocked."

Percy came even closer, holding my tear streaked face with his hands. "You know I love you, don't you?" I smiled and kissed him.

"Ooooohhhhh!" said the audience. Some girls shrieked, some screeched, and others broke down. Some couples were whispering, judging me. The king and queen were smiling.

Everything was perfect.
