hwasa's pov

it was chemistry lesson. as usual, wheein was seated beside me at our spot which was the last row of the classroom.

miss venus's voice has always been so thin and pitched in a way that i would fall asleep within five minutes in class, if i wasn't paying attention. today, she was explaining about how to construct and form a chemical equation. being a fan of tuning her out whenever i hear her voice, i was about to doze off when she finally finished teaching.

within a moment, worksheets were being passed down. they were to be completed before the lesson ended. the numbers and chemical formulae stared up at me as i scanned through the paper. of course, as i began attempting the questions, i was stuck at the first one. my wristwatch showed that there was only ten minutes to the end of the lesson.

slowly, i turned my head to the side, facing wheein. she was scribbling her answers on her paper, occasionally counting with her fingers. i took a peek at what she wrote, and put them on my worksheet.

just as i was able to complete it, a hand blocked the last two answers. i looked up at wheein, who was grinning at me. a light chuckle escaped her throat.

she cheekily remarked,"look who's struggling with chem! at least complete the last two questions on your own."

i frowned at her and pretended to write an answer onto the blanks. while her attention was being diverted to elsewhere, i quickly yanked her paper out of her grasp, and managed to take down the last few answers.

satisfied, i turned to wheein, smirking. inside, i was doubling up with laughter, because she took so long to realise that i was copying her work and even failed to stop me from it. as we handed in the worksheet, wheein was clearly fuming with frustration as she stomped out of class.

maybe i may never like wheein, but being her best friend is definitely one of the best things ever.
