Over the next few weeks many events occurred. The two men went to a party at which Matt got locked in a port a potty and Nate laughed his ass off, Matt needed to go to new York for some research and their flight was SO VERY DELAYED, not to mention the time Matt came home and found Nate stealing his eggs because he forgot to get groceries, all the while Matt still trying to show Nate ways to get his guy. it was crazy to say the least!

the oddest thing though by far was happening right in front of him.

Nate sat staring at the drunken man in front of him, wondering why he was like that to begin with. It wasn't like Matt to drink so much, it wasn't like Matt to drink at all! Turning his attention back to his inebriated friend who had started slurring his words speaking to himself.

"Naaaaaate." He finally directed to Nate.

"Yeah bud? You alright man?" The aforementioned questioned looking down to meet Matt who sat hunched, almost laying, on the table.

"Nooooo... im thinkin' 'bout stephhhhh..anie." Nate flinched lightly at the mention of Matt's Ex. "Ivent had a relationship sonce 'er. I want some luvin'!" He exclaimed shooting up at the last part of his short rant. Nate calmed himself a bit. 'it was just the alcohol talking.' he thought to himself mentally sighing. He wasn't sure why but for some reason when ever Matt mentioned Stephanie he got sort of annoyed at him. Perhaps he was jealous? Although it wouldn't make any sense, Stephanie dumped him years ago.

"Alright buddy, lets get you home." Carefully Nate lifted up the older man and cradled him in his arms, their faces were so close it was almost like Nate could just lean over and-

Nate stopped in his tracks and looked down at his friend. Friend. A word he'd have to keep in mind if he was going to keep being there for him, only watching, never acting.

He laid Matt in the back seat and took his in the front. He had a good thing going here he shouldn't try and ruin it with his dumb ideas.

Nate pulled up to Matt's house and threw one of his arms over his shoulders supporting him with his other. The man was quietly murmuring to himself, he seemed hazy to say the least. Nate opened the front door and could just barely make it out but he could have swore he heard it.

"Stephanie."

Nate threw Matt down on the couch, not caring to be attentive, and went into the kitchen to calm himself. Why. does it. bother. him. SO MUCH. He pulled his face into his hands and let out a groan. He smelled like alcohol and sadness, kind of like his companion in the other room if he was being honest with himself. Nate sighed peeking back through the doorway and at the man who now lay on the floor.

He stared for a moment but quickly accepted defeat hauling himself over to the man and picking him up once more. Nothing better than hard manual labor after a night on the town. He carried Matt up to his bed and heedfully... well, dropped him there.

Nate left without a trace.
